<8> well used to my firewirre card worked fine....i went out and got a camcorder and hooked it up xp recgnized it no problem but after that it wouldnt recognize it anymore well it did but off and on and whne it did it would disconnect from it after about 20 seconds

<32> I had 256megs. My first step was to find out what memory was accepted and the maximum. I went to buy.com to ask for the motherboard brand and model and they said that the ~$350 desktops were generic and there was no way to determine it. So I did a memory scan and it looked something like this:

<32> So I got 2 1 gig memory sticks and got them in. I turned on the computer and had an intermittent loud beep and the computer wouldn't start. I tried 1 memory stick. Works great. Tried the other by itself. Worked great. Tried 1 gig with the 256, works great. Could there be ANY OTHER REASON other than my motherboard doesn't support 2 gigs that it doesn't work with 2 gigs? The memory is:
