I went throught the Network Setup Wizard on each of the 2 computers, and then shared a printer connected to the Home computer. On the Pro computer, although I see computer the Home computer on the network, I don't see the printer when I go to "Add Printer" in the Pro computer's control panel. Any suggestions? <0> TheGohan: we will work out arrangements <1> admin_lo, You spoke too soon <1> *fwap* <14> no no <14> about chal i mean <14> oh you mean mu-fasa well he's just ordinary <1> mu-fasa, Does the computer that the printer is hooked to, reconize the printer? <16> TheGohan: Yes, it can print to it, if that's what you mean. <1> Also, IF you're running a firewall, Try to disable it any try again. (This includes Window's firewall) <16> I tried disabling Windows Firewall on the computer it's hooked up to. <1> I'd do it on BOTH computers to begin with <16> well, the other was already unfirewalled at the time, incidentally. <16> so I think that angle was covered. <16> The Pro box doesn't have the drivers for that printer yet, but that's okay, right? <1> Well, Actually.... Say we have two computers. computer1 and computer2. If you hook a printer to computer1, and want to access it with computer2, Computer2 will need the printer drivers. <1> So, Whatever computers you are using to print, Need the printer drivers. <16> TheGohan: Right, but I thought the "Add Printer" wizard in Windows XP will transfer the drivers from the XP Home machine to the XP Pro machine. <1> No, The "Add Printer" wizard has nothing to do with activly transfering drivers for network printing. All the wizard does is mainly add the hardware and drivers to the LOCAL computer, and gives you the option to share it. <16> Okay, I think I found the main problem though. <1> Also... When you're adding the shared printer to the Pro computer, If you cant see the printer by using the browser thing, you can try to just type in the location <1> like, if you share the printer with the name "printer", it'd be \\computername\printer <16> TheGohan: I think I found my main problem: In Windows Explorer, the Pro machine sees the Home machine. But when I click on the Home machine, I get a dialog that starts "\\[computer name] is not accessible. ..." <1> computername would be the value given by going to control panel, clicking "system" icon, then clicking the "Computer name" tab. <16> Any idea how to troubleshoot this? <1> well, I got an idea.... as I said above, Don't use the Explorer to find it. <1> just manually enter the info: \\computername\printer <16> I tried that earlier. It asked me for a p***word for the Home computer, I pressed enter without providing one, and it said it can't access the device. I'm 100% sure that the administrator account (which is currently logged into) on the Home box is not p***word protected. <1> In that case, It's going to be a permissions problem. <1> let me get info on permissions <1> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040
