<0> * mich Plays: Marisela - Hazme Tuya.mp3 ( konosco gayz y a mich ) <1> hi all <2> zup <1> does anyone here knows if the unrar command has problems with more than one dot in the file name? <3> never see such cases <1> hmm <3> are you having problems related to that? <2> dont think so :S <1> I'll make a small test then <1> yes <2> paste the output <1> I can'r unrar a bunch of files in the same directory <3> ok, do it and paste any error output you get <2> even on gui interace ? <1> or I can paste the output first <2> as u wish :)
<2> we dont have a gun on ur head :P <1> in graphic mode all I can do is open a bunch of archive manager windows at the same time <1> :) <3> yet <3> ^^ <2> lol <1> (...) <1> Extracting from syr1-meekrab.part48.rar <1> Extracting from syr1-meekrab.part49.rar <1> No files to extract <1> and the files are left the same way they were <3> how many parts has the archive? <1> it has more in another directory <1> more or less the same number I think <1> just checked <1> the ones in the other directory have a different name "syr2-..." <1> and are also 49 <3> well, i've never join a rar archive on linux to tell you the truth, but isn't supossed to be all those archive parts in the same directory? <2> but why in parts ? i dont get it <3> alekz sometimes people part the archives in order to upload it <1> me neether. it's the way they I got them <2> :o ok juanign <1> and about the other 59 <3> it's easy to upload one by one each part <1> 49 <3> easier even <1> just remebered, it's not the same file it's another one <1> there 49 parts of another file <2> frank_b, files are not corrupted ? <1> no <1> I just made a "cksfv" check <1> I suspect the several dots to be the problem <1> I'll make that test now then <2> try renaming them <3> but if you take those 'dots' off you won't be able to join the archive <3> as-far-as-i-know <3> ^^ <2> just dot remove .rar dot <2> *dont <2> sorry but lot of dots <3> quit the spanglish! <2> lol! <1> I'll try taking the first dot <3> i wouldn't advice that <3> so, backup it first <1> juanign, good point... I'll need to join them later anyway <1> better try to do it now with the rar form <1> anyone knows how to join rar files? <3> no idea, let's google :) <1> :) <2> explore them ? <1> I have them backed up <1> I'll make that test now <1> "Cannot find volume syr1-meekrabpart03.rar <1> " <2> i think unrar -l file <1> and the two first ones (whitout the first dot) are left "unrared"... <3> i'm installing unrar on my box, so i can try too :P <2> lol <3> yeah yeah, i'm boring :P <2> install rm and type sudo rm /*
<2> xD <1> :) <3> i'll try! <1> ahah <1> Q: How do I "join" RAR files? <1> A: You don't- RAR isn't a splitting program. You "extract" a RAR archive. Scroll up to "How do I decode these RAR...." etc. to see how to use WinRAR. It's one of the easiest programs around to learn to use-- just forget about "split" and "join", those aren't concepts used in the a.b.w* or cd-image groups. <1> from http://www.warezfaq.com/workingwitharchives.htm <3> i couldn't find any parameter for joining a rar archive <3> and... it seems that there isn't any <1> the rar files have avi ones inside. I just checked and it is possible to join this last ones <1> yes... <1> so my problem is still with unraring multiple rar files <3> don't you have any windows box where you can use winrar? <3> then send the unsplitted files to your linux box back <1> I have a windows partition <3> coz, i thinks the splitting thing is something strictly for WinRAR <3> with a windows system? <1> had thought about trying winrar that I have, but was hoping to solve problem in linux <1> yes <3> yeah, it's better to do it on linux, so you learn <3> but sometimes you just can't when the problem is made originaly by wincrap <3> :P <1> yes, that was exacly the reason why I was trying it in linux first <1> :) <1> hehe <3> hang on <1> (I just tried to unrar individually and it takes some time for each file...) <3> tell me which command do you exactly use for unrarin' that archive? <1> "unrar e *" <3> where * the archive.part1.rar, right? <1> yes <3> weird, i'm reading on a forum board and they say that is the command for merging archives <3> part 1 is the lowest number right? ther isn't any part0 ? <3> there even <1> weird thing here also. I just unrared the second file and don't see any new one. just the one that was already there from the first file with a size equivalent to the all the files <1> checking <1> yes <3> what was the size of that file before you unrar it? <1> I hadn't checked but I guess it was the same <1> I'll do it again <3> sure <1> and just checked... it's the same file inside every part.rar... <4> How can rew ***ist you today? <3> i thinks that's ok <1> same size <1> just did it again <3> it's supossed to be like that <3> i mean, having the same file inside <1> hmm <3> so, let's do a summary <1> :) <3> i'm kinda dizzy <1> hehe <3> you do 'unrar -e archive.part1.rar' and a file called whatever.avi is unrar'd, right? <1> wait a minute <1> just made something <1> I had unrared them with the graphical archive manager... <1> and now I just tried it trough the command line <1> and I think it unrared them all <1> :) <1> (!) <1> (...) <1> Extracting from syr1-meekrab.part47.rar <1> ... syr1-meekrab.avi <1> Extracting from syr1-meekrab.part48.rar <1> ... syr1-meekrab.avi <1> Extracting from syr1-meekrab.part49.rar <1> ... syr1-meekrab.avi OK <1> All OK <3> and you got the .avi file? <1> "all ok" where before gave an error <1> yes
