<0> hello all. I am trying to setup a computer with 2 NIC's as a firewall, and use my routers 4 lan side ports to share data between the firewall and lan. Nothing is connected to wan on the router. I have my net like this inet -> RED Interface on ipcop (ip 192.168.0.2) -> lan port on router (ip 192.168.0.1) and out lan port on router -> laptop (ip 192.168.0.102) with this setup I can using the laptop connect to dl-link 604 router via web inter
<0> what I am not sure of, is am I supposed to be using a crossover cable for direct connection of my cable modem to my RED interface, or is straight through fine? And maybe it's an ipcop issue...
<1> I'm having a hard time configuring my internet cafe with my router and yahoo mail and messenger. I can't reply and attach files with yahoo mail... i can't let others view my webcam. It freezes when i broadcast it. But if i remove the router and just connect the modem to my hub switch, all are just fine... so the problem lies within the router... i've tried all port triggering and forwarding but to no avail... can anyone help me?
<2> What ports have you forwarded?
<1> 80
<2> That's for a web server
<2> Are you hosting a web server on your Internet cafe, that you need people from the Internet to see?

<1> yeah
<1> and 8000
<2> yahoo mail uses pop3 access, so your router should not affect that
<1> ive been wondering why i just could not reply, attach files and let view others my cam

<2> Have you checked that port 80 is actually open from your host?
<2> If your Internet Cafe IP is the one you are connecting from now, then it isn't open.
<1> yeah i guess so
<2> I've just checked :)
<2> Perhaps your ISP is blocking port 80 - they do in some countries.
<1> aww yeah i guess thats why
<1> should i manually ***ign this?
<2> Manually ***ign the ports, you mean/
<1> uh yeah
<2> Well ya see, you can only forward them to one host at a time, on the router...
<2> But if both yahoo Messenger & your Router, support somethin called 'UPnp', then it will happen automatically
<1> aww i see
<1> ive tried ***igning port 5100 to view webcam at y! msngr both to internal/external port TCP
<1> but still doesnt work
<2> mm
<2> have you closed and re-opened Yahoo?
<1> yes
<1> ive added too at regedit new key for yahoo webcam still doesnt work
<1> ive read the site, tnx
<2> *nod
<1> :)
