<0> happy easter!
<1> Free BNC running on your own desktop?
<1> Only it's not /your/ BNC?
<1> Good afternoon them
<0> hmm
<0> lot of spambots again
<0> hmmm
<0> 129,wow thats old
<1> It's odd, but is it prime?
<0> does it need to be?
<1> But he could have had 127 - odd /and/ prime
<1> And old
<0> is 29 a prime?
<1> Or 131
<1> Yup, 29 is prime
<0> yay!

<1> Or 37
<1> Whichever comes first
<1> Then I'll be in the prime of life
<2> already over it, getting a touch of grey here and there
<2> but grey hair is better then no hair
<1> I got a touch of grey when I was 12
<1> Mine seems to be holding up fairly well, if greyer
<2> hmm wonder if I should keep my fc4 mirror
<2> 14G of updates
<2> longword, wb
<1> Wonder what happened there
<3> themaxxz29, why would you want to delete it?
<3> themaxxz29, may i speak to you in private, btw?
<4> hello! i'm running kubuntu breezy, and something has happened to x server, as i cant start it anymore from my normal account - it only works with sudo
<5> A little sendmail config question, if we have a sm guru here...Default privacy options for 8.11 is "goaway". If the sendmail.cf file has a "O Privacy=" list, does that reset it to "public" + what is specified or am I still covered by the goaway restrictions?
<6> any1 here?
<7> No, that nick isn't in the channel right now.
<8> freezey: i am, are you?
<6> haha yeah
<7> You might try again later.
<6> i love the responses from people
<6> haha
<6> well i got a question
<6> and lookin for some help
<8> freezey: psychiatic?
<7> Well, then... don't speak Moron, you won't get silly responses back.
<6> na
<6> haha
<8> freezey: whats the problem?
<6> arite check this out
<6> i am installing slackware on a poweredge 2500 running 10.2
<6> i need to setup raid
<6> and not sure how to do it
<7> But yet you think you should be using Slack.
<8> freezey: oh, Im not a raid wiz and have never used slack....
<6> what the hell you talkin about wilson
<6> thanks prime
<6> its cool
<7> freezey: Typically it's the clueless that use Slack.
<6> the clueless that use slack? alot of major corps use slack
<6> friend of mine words out in ohio as a linux system admin
<6> and all they use is slack
<6> its all about the distro of choice
<6> i am runnin ubuntu right now
<6> why would you say slack is not a good one to run
<7> I can't imagine a single major anything that would be using Slack. Usually a corporation has better things to do than pretend to be 'leet.
<2> that was bad timing
<5> heh, some people need to learn how to put more than 1 sentence on a line...
<1> I tried to /invite him but he's gone
<2> longword, shame on you :)
<1> He must be taught the error of his ways!
<1> Why an elusive one?
<1> Would a regular one not be better at giving answers?
<5> Heh, apparently not, so I need to trap one and keep him in a cage...
<1> A bat cage?
<5> That would seem appropriate
<1> What are you using sendmail for anyway? Are you doing UUCP?
<5> Evil Security needs. It is installed, thus a pain in the *** to be examined...

<5> Mine is not to install or unuinstall, but merely to reconfigure...
<1> Err. Evil Security is easier with Postfix
<1> Where are you stuck?
<5> I believe PrivacyOptions defaults to "goaway" in 8.11+. I was wondering; if the sendmail.cf file has an "O PrivacyOptions=" line, does that complement the 'goaway' opr replace it?
<5> (s/opr/or/)
<1> On your own there I'm afraid
<1> And almost nobody uses sendmail
<1> I think Redragon^ might, but he won't be awake for a while
<3> longword, when does gaia usually come around?
<1> disc: I am not privy to Gaia's schedule
<3> ok, fair enough.
<1> disc: But your odds are good if you come back in 6 hours or so
<9> longword: thats a hell of a statement. (sendmail)
<5> Hrm, with FC3+, is there a method of resizing a live filesystem?
<1> D: Which sendmail statement?
<1> Zeek: No.
<1> Zeek: Though you can umount a filesystem, resize it, then remount it
<1> Zeek: That won't change the partition table, that's a manual job and requires a reboot for the new partition table to be recognised
<1> Zeek: you're not using sendmail on FC3 are you?
<2> depends
<2> lvm doesnt require reboots
<1> them: Practically.
<1> This is true.
<10> I just got done copying over a partition and resizing it to fill the rest of the disc using parted
<2> and I believe fc defaults to using lvm I think
<1> And if you can umount all the partitions on a whole disk, you can get the kernel to recognise the partition change
<5> longword, it is installed (though for sending only, daemon is not set to run)
<1> Zeek: you know FC3 isn't really supported right, in terms of security updates and stuff?
<2> longword, sshh
<2> dont jinx my laptop install :)
<1> Would it kill you to upgrade?
<5> alas, but it exists in the world and is a far greater pain to convince an upgrade
<5> yes.
<1> fC5 is quit nice you know
<5> I would hope to do that, and actually am checking into it, but that is sadly not something for right now.
<2> longword, no, but the cdrom gave up a long time ago havent come around to a net install
<1> Zeek: Upgrade from FC3 to CentOS 4 is relatively painless
<5> I would love it merely from the real audit system...
<5> if it were my box, I am sure.
<1> them: You don't have to go the whole hog with PXE
<1> them: You can just get the vmlinuz and initrd from the CD images/pxeboot/ and stick those in your grub.conf
<2> no pxe here
<2> plus upgrading will take a few hours on this p2 400
<5> as far as my filesystem resize, I am looking to break out /home onto a new partition by stealing space from /. So looking to reduce /, make a new filesystem, move /home contents to the new filesystem (though ob if there were an easy mechanism to take a path and do it all in 1, that is ok too
<5> reboot is fine
<11> If you have ext3 Zeek , you could try parted , but i am not sure how satisfyed / will be when you move its head cilynder...
<5> well, I would hope to steal from the end of /, make a new partion based on the end of /
<11> Ah, that should work...
<5> Yeah, looks like / is hda3, the last defined partition
<12> w Zeek
<12> hi*
<11> Hey, guys, you know how i can see the filesystem of a partition ? (not mounted, for some reason, i suppose i gave wrong fstype in fstab)
<13> fdisk -l
<11> Doesnt tell me if those are ext3 or 2 Redragon^ ...
<13> oh
<11> And /boot is not mounted , the system is still booting, but i guess i told the system to mount /boot as ext3 and /boot is originaly ext2 *hmmmm* .
<14> df -k
<13> df only works on mounted partitions
<14> ah
<15> <[Heidi]> wanna see Pamela Anderson ? click.. -> wWw.***You.oRg/Under***
<14> cat /etc/fstab
<5> c-wolf, You mean like sfdisk?
<16> anyone? I've got a big problem with wine. everybody time i start, even when i run xwine with no arguments, it locks up my system, and the only thing to do is reset. anyone know what the problem is?
<11> Lemme check Zeek , actualy i edited the fstab and told it to mount the /boot as ext2 .. now we`ll see..
<16> anyone know why wine would lock up a PC completely?
<17> i need help, what can I do,.. lamers sniff my traffic !?
<18> hey...I have a few data directories that plug into various scripts, particularly Gallery (a web photo system)...for some reason, from time to time, the permissions on those data directories get messed up, and it breaks the underlying program. Right now I have a cron job set up to periodically restore those permissions, but I would prefer to get to the underlying problem. Anyone have any ideas why this may be happening?
<7> Ludia-Morqk: All the time.
<17> mwilson i can`t understend..
<7> Ludia-Morqk: You asked a question, I answered it.
<17> ok
<17> but how to stop sniffing?
<7> Ludia-Morqk: You don't.
<17> if I change ISP will stop?? :((
