<4> Could anyone help me? I got Tvtime showing perfect video, but the sound is missing. I tried unmuting all existing channels, didn't work. My tvcard doesn't have a sound out line s I can't connect it to the soundcards line in. Last I tried using "sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp /dev/dsp2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp" but I don't have a dsp2-device. Any way to circumvent this? I need sound! :)
<3> what about /dev/dsp1? That there?
<4> checking...
<4> no only /dev/dsp
<1> two -t's !?!?
<1> why not just : sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp ?
<1> why not just : sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp /dev/dsp *
<2> ?
<4> Because I'm a noob who can't make sense of either line :) Should that work?
<1> dunno ... try !
<4> ok :)
<1> sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp /dev/dsp
<4> got "Failed: Not enough input or output filenames specified"
<1> sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp /dev/dsp -t ossdsp /dev/dsp
<4> it's supposed to route the sound to another sound-device like adsp (which didn't work btw), so it needs 2 sources
<1> dunno ..
<4> arr... it's right here http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/help.html at chapter 11, only thing different is I don't have a dsp2-device...
<3> ZarathustraD: mmmmm.... what does lspci -v -v -v | less show you
<4> oh, forget how to make the symbol before "less" :)
<1> hmm the sistem temperature seems to stay around 55 - 60 degrees C
<4> What's going on with my comp, can't make that vertical line before "less" above

<0> yeah, we used to have to draw our own pictures on the gl*** :/
<3> themaxxz: so am I. A TV does fine.
<3> ZarathustraD: what other items (audio) are there?
<1> that's probably the sound card

<8> ANyone has a clue how to try to recover some data of a "dead" hard disk ?
<7> ddrescue
<4> only thing related to sound would be "Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 05)"
<8> T`aZ, next question... got a Windows box. got the dead lappy. the dead lappy has a not-working cd-rom, but has PXE. Any chance on booting ?
