<0> anyone experienced with clamav + samba-vscan? I was curious of the IO performance hit on a mid-size server (about 300 users at any one time)
<1> oh i really messed up that machine now hehe
<1> hmmm
<1> worry about it later i guess
<2> yup, that's a day.... OH FRE$K$
<2> yay for 60hz eyestrain
<2> AHAHAHAHAHAHA..... windows thinks my monitor is at 200hz
<2> there we are
<3> execpt audacity which is refusing to compile, what other audio editing program can i use to filter out background noises and stuff?
<4> flush_: I was having the same problem, with Compaq C and GCC... Audacity just doesn't wish to built and you can't sent in a bug report except via email...then you don't hear another freakn word
<3> what error do you get
<4> flush_: just a sec, was downloading 1.2.4b... I was getting the error with 1.2.3... I think I still have the error_log... let me check
<4> flush_: here it is: with gcc : libwx_gtk2-2.4.so: undefined reference to `regexec(re_pattern_buffer const*, char const*, unsigned long, regmatch_t*, int)
<5> ok
<3> i dont get this error, but its still crap

<5> so im back
<5> :))
<4> flush_: with Compaq C: obj/AColor.o:(.rodata+0x38): undefined reference to `__7CreateRefData__8wxObjectCFv'
<4> flush_: keep in mind, this is with 1.2.3... just downloaded 1.2.4b
<5> when i do telnet host ip from my bash script i want to enter some commands like logging in with user and p*** and sending 2-3 commands
<5> how can i do that
<3> MeterToolBar.cpp:104: error: variable `wxPaintDC dc' has initializer but incomplete type
<4> flush_: going to compile here in a sec and see if it works
<4> flush_: I installed: wxGTK-2.4.2.tar.bz2
<3> good, lemme know
<4> flush_: is that the same version that you used?
<3> i have gtk+-2.8.9/
<3> would wxgtk2.4.2 conflict with it
<3> flush@h4xb0x:~/wxGTK-2.3.1$
<4> flush_: don't think so, I installed with GTK-2.8.x and it 'seemed' to work fine when built against it.... if you're using something like YUM or what ever, it might tell you if theres some sort of conflict
<3> copy
<6> hullo
<4> SSigSeg: w***suuuupppppp!
<5> hey
<5> so im telneting localhost from my bash script and i want the bash script to enter my user and apss
<5> p***
<5> how do i do that
<4> flush_: shooot, the code looks WORST... Hell Compaq C couldn't even make it though the configure script without hitting a boat load of errors and then failing *jez*
<4> mutalisk: I don't know, kittenbot might be able to help but she's not here at the moment... shes a scripting wonder
<3> hahahaha
<3> well i beleive audacity isnt compiling very well
<3> ive been reading so much different errors on forums
<3> dunno what to do
<7> mutalisk, Look for expect, that will work
<6> what is up... well, installing qmail :\
<4> flush_: yea, its called 'bad code'... I don't know what they're 'trying to do' but it doesn't appear to be working.. Like Firefox/Mozilla, you might need a really old version of GCC and Binutils to get it to compile [they're more permissive concerning coding errors]
<5> expect?
<8> expect is, like, a program that you use to create programmed dialogues with interactive programs
<5> where do i get it?
<5> :)
<6> qmail?
<8> i heard qmail is written by an insufferably arrogant swine who is under the conceited belief that his software is perfect, and refuses to update/maintain it, or even acknowledge buggy behaviour in it. its also illegal to distribute modified binaries.
<7> mutalisk, Heard of google?
<4> flush_: this is the error I got with GCC-4.1.0: ../../include/SoundTouch.h:149: error: extra qualification 'soundtouch::SoundTouch::' on member 'getVersionId'
<3> OptimusPrime: l-m-a-o
<3> so you mean i should like, downgrade all my version to get more chances to see audacity compile?
<3> incredible
<3> im pissed off, im already donwloading cool edit for win**** xp
<4> flush_: normally thats what you have to do with programs like that... you can install different versions of GCC btw... either you can built it and set the suffix [the ending or bin files] or simply rename them ....personally I do the later if I don't already have it built, then use a little script to set different versions of GCC as the default compiler [/usr/bin/gcc and /usr/bin/g++]... there's info on how to do it at gcc.gnu.org
<4> flush_: with Firefox/Mozilla, I don't think it can be built with anything newer than GCC-3.2.3... its just too damn buggy..you can't optimize it either
<4> flush_: I was going to try GCC-3.4.3 with Audacity and see how that works... but from the looks of it, this version is written worst that 1.2.3
<4> flush_: with 1.2.3, I can at least get to the very end before it rolls snake eyes, thats with GCC-4.0.1 AND Compaq C...1.2.4b doesn't even make it a few minutes into the build
<3> lmfao
<3> thats hell
<3> i give up, im not gaonna piss myself off installing 10 versions of gcc to get a damn prog workin
<3> you edited the /src/MeterToolBar.ccp file?
<4> flush_: well you don't need ten... just a few of the more common ones... I have 2.96 [for really old code, circa 95], GCC-3.2.3 [for stuff like Mozilla], GCC 4.0.1, used to use it for everything else, and GCC-4.1.0 which I just installed and am testing out ... GCC-4.1.0 appears to build the fastest code and is the most restrictive as well
<4> not includeing Compaq C, which for an Alpha, is the fastest thing you can build with and generates some of the best, most stable code
<3> well if you get it compiling, tell me what you used ;)
<4> Compaq C is a Strict ANSI Compiler
<4> flush_: k
<3> "...a pseudo-random number generator is totally predictable." --http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_random_number_generator
<3> anyway, smoke time
<9> so.....
<9> okay Isabella Mercier is hot, a hot poker player

<9> wow
<10> anyone here?
<11> yeah
<10> koo, possible i can get some tips with installcheck?
<4> !ada
<8> ada is, like, a lame programming language named after Charles Babbage's wife. although object oriented it shows no signs of intelligent life and it's not even case sensitive. gnat is capable of compiling ada sources however it's about 25megs and a waste of time downloading. ... or a little french linux-boy, in love with his adsl modem
<4> john3285: you're talking about check-install? used to create rpms/tgz files?
<10> yea
<4> john3285: doing some rpm spec file scripting would be mucho better... checkinstall is a barebones rpm roller and will often miss files... in some cases, with poorly written or unwieldy makefiles, it will often create empty rpms.... specfiles aren't that complicated
<4> !checkinstall
<8> methinks checkinstall is a program that keeps track of all files installed by a "make install" or equivalent, creates a Slackware, RPM, or Debian package with those files, and adds it to the installed packages database, allowing for easy package removal or distribution. http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/
<4> john3285: I have it, but seldom use it
<10> before, I just reinstalled my linux
<10> before when i typed checkinstall
<4> john3285: yea
<10> it used to install the package, now when I type checkinstall it creates a package in the dir
<10> then i have to type installpkg the thing it just created
<10> i dont understand why it changed
<4> john3285: you can install a package, after it rolls it... never heard of it installing it by default
<10> oO
<10> interesting
<10> im over my head on this one then
<4> john3285: thats the way its been with the last two releases... I have them
<4> john3285: it may have been different sometime ago though
<10> when u type checkinstall it creates a package, then u need to install it?
<4> john3285: are you running linux or bsd?
<10> slack
<4> john3285: oh ok
<4> john3285: if you try running checkinstall --help, it will show you some of the options... to create a pkg and installl it the flag --install=yes is used
<3> this is strange
<4> john3285: it will create the pkg then instal it immediately after creating it
<4> flush_: what?
<10> oh sweet, thats what it probably used to do it
<10> im gonna give it a go, thanks
<3> http://paste.getlinuxhelp.org/2034
<3> this
<3> i just repeat the command, and it works
<3> but it must tell me that i dont have the permition before
<4> flush_: now that is kind of widl
<4> widl/wild
<3> its teh rofl yeah
<3> probably because its some crappies fat32 partitions
<4> flush_: personally I would just type : /mnt/public_dump/warezZZZZZZZ/Cool <tab><tab> so that it would add the bash slashes for the spaces
<3> well its not the problem cauz it does that for any file
<3> and when it says "overwrite?" the fact is that it didnt even write on it
<3> i say "yes", enter, then i see the eth0 and hda graphs show some activity
<4> flush_: dont' know what to tell you, you might just have a cheap computer
<4> flush_: hehehe, just kidding ;-)
<3> lmao
<3> anyway gonna install cool edit on win****, im swappin screen bbiab
<3> lawl
<4> flush_: just had to rib you a little bit
<3> hehe
<4> flush_: alright
<10> woohooo, thanx optimus!! :)
<10> worked :)
<4> john3285: that will be 50
<10> ;-) put it on my tab
<4> john3285: ok
<1> stupid bot
<1> ohhh damn him
<1> oh damn him
<12> ho, anyone here?
<13> ssh.. they're hiding :P
<10> lol
<12> hmm.. i have a problem, my java applet windows wont close
<13> any applet windows ?
<4> flush_: it just doesnt build... with GCC-3.2.3 "soundstretch-RunParameters.o: In function `RunParameters':
<4> /usr/include/c++/3.2.3/bits/stl_alloc.h:695: undefined reference to `std::__default_alloc_template<(bool)1, (int)0>::deallocate(void*, unsigned long)'" and with GCC-3.4.3 "effects/ToneGen.cpp:268: error: ISO C++ says that these are ambiguous, even though the worst conversion for the first is better than the worst conversion for the second:"
<12> hmm.. actually, let me try another site
<9> I love this movie
<9> Office Space
<13> it's hilarious :)
