<1> 4 nics would be less failure prone :P
<2> well I have two firewalls
<3> bronaugh, exactly :)
<2> with CARP+pfsync
<3> has a 2 nic etherchannel to his vmware box, and doing vlans on top of that :)
<3> Viking667, wb

<4> and how can I install the ppeo connection?
<4> *PPOE
<4> bronaugh, I preffer marijuana
<1> uhh. yeah that would explain why you're acting stupid.
<4> I did not insulted you.

<1> take a break from the pot.
<4> I think you should get a life, dude.
<1> so ... uhh, having a life means smoking pot?
<1> hmm...
<4> the line I just said was for the line you insulted me.
<1> whatever, who am I to judge? if it makes you less frustrated, great, but it'll make you dumber too.
<6> heya ppl
<7> hello all im trying to get a program that will burn iso's im using ubuntu found a few in the add/remove but when i goto install says they are not supported
<0> darn. Gotta go.
<7> is there a way to burn iso with ubuntu?
<8> Oh my, I never should have p***ed on that quiz
<8> Bai, Viking
<6> any1 can give me a script for adsl reconnect ? (i have slack 10.2 and speedtouch330 usb modem)
<1> Viking667: I wouldn't be saying "Darn"
<8> bronaugh: Why not, some people actually enjoy life online ;)
<5> ^THE_HAMMER^: There's some reason to not just use cdrecord? For that matter, doesn't Nautilus have that on right-click or something?
<7> not sure but ill see if i have all that that
<9> HI, I am an IRCop, if you need help please ask.
<10> If I want to add a 6th drive to a 5-drive raid-5, How difficult is it to get linux to pick up the new space? This is a hardware raid and my controller supports "Online Capacity Expansion"
<1> Coma: damn, you beat me to it.
<8> Muahaha. You're slow, old boy :P
<1> yeah, I guesss.
<11> hey all
<8> Funny that people still try to get away with crap like that
<7> i dont seem to have it and also tried search for add/remove
<11> how can i add ips to my root ?
<5> You don't have *Nautilus*. <snicker>
<5> You claim to be running Ubuntu, but you don't have *Gnome*.
<7> im running ubuntu
<1> I think I'll listen to The Smiths and ignore you.
<8> [IRCop--(fd@c-67-173-24-185.hsd1.il.comcast.net)] Now Unban me
<8> Bwahaha, this guy's hilarious
<11> how can i add ips to my root ?
<8> asdasdsd: Whose root is that?
<10> reason I ask, I have 5 drives now... 6th is on its way but wont be here until next week... I'm wondering if I should just wait to set it up when it gets here or if I can just add it w/o a problem later
<11> mine ofcourse :s
<7> never mind i found a program that will burn iso i didnt know i had ty anyways
<5> asdasdsd: Do we get to know what you think you mean by "root"?
<1> Coma: he's a tard.
<1> seems to be a bit of "attack of the tards" this summer.
<8> bronaugh: You should see what came after that ;)
<1> hahaha
<1> hey people, message ircop--
<1> tell him he's a tard.
<5> I've yet to meet one.
<8> [msg(IRCop--)] You're the ircop here, unban yourself.
<8> [IRCop--(fd@c-67-173-24-185.hsd1.il.comcast.net)] I shouldnt have to use my powers.
<8> [IRCop--(fd@c-67-173-24-185.hsd1.il.comcast.net)] You should know some respect.
<5> ack
<1> apparently I have a thing for fowl... I am a "cock ****er"
<4> Coma ahahahahaha
<4> bronaugh on dalnet I guess?
<12> Coma, better take care :)
<1> nah, this is ircop--
<8> bronaugh: How about some respectful bofh ball?
<1> Coma: sounds like a good game.
<4> I'm speaking with him too, he was lying about that he/she is a oper on dalnet
<1> yeah, that sure matters.
<1> tell him he's on the wrong network.

<1> he should go back to dalnet and cry like an infant.
<13> So are people past 20 yet?
<12> dalnet ..I thought dalnet vanished
<8> bronaugh: Lets see if he bites
<8> longvvord: Nope, threw in the towel (for today anyway)
<1> IRCop--: hello.
<9> Coma, you're a good kid.
<1> bofh ball, game on.
<4> 1-0 for bronaugh
<9> Show some respect.
<4> 3-0 for Linuxhelp
<4> :p~
<8> rotflol
<1> hahahah
<8> Yup, that's respect alright
<1> yeah.
<11> ok where is my help ?
<4> in your pocket, lol
<1> we're busy, cant' you see
<14> lool
<15> MartYanu gdst io
<11> yeah playing games with a stupid person
<14> loool
<11> that make u busy aight
<1> we're also purpetually short on time for people with feelings of entitlement
<1> err, perpetually.
<16> do you consider seti to be a futile effort?
<4> bah
<4> murtall, could you swear me in english, please?
<8> sinthetek: It's a conspiracy set in motion by electric companies!
<16> hehe
<17> Does anyone know that if using ccache with /var/tmp/portage mounted in tmpfs would slow down builds in gentoo?
<16> i was actually thinking it is a government front to steal cpu power for calculating specs for next generation weapons or something :P
<16> s/thinking/considering if
<16> but then i thought 'if that is the case, they definately wouldn't get cooperation from berkeley!' haha
<8> sinthetek: Oh, worse, it's a front for NSA's spying business
<16> ...UNLESS everyone from berkeley seti division were all actually plants...
<16> haha, yeah
<16> seti@home is actually powering echelon
<13> Plants from another world?
<13> Triffids?
<13> TheC: It would reduce the amount of available RAM, so it depends.
<14> how can i edit kernel
<17> el_julio, nano /usr/src/linux/.config
<17> :)
<1> longvvord: are there guarantees that tmpfs will stay in memory?
<17> el_julio, Or just cd /usr/src/linux && make menuconfig
<13> No.
<14> thx
<13> And it will be pushed out to virtual memory
<13> But still
<8> bronaugh: He really doesn't know when to quit
<1> longvvord: can't see it being any worse or better than disk, then, other than that it will initially be in memory.
<1> Coma: ircop?
<1> hehe
<8> Yup
<1> intelligence is not his middle name.
<13> bron: If swap starts getting full, that'll put pressure on cache
<1> longvvord: true..
<17> But the fact that I'm doing all my builds on a laptop with a subpar hdd, keeping most of my compiling in mem make the hdd speed barrier a moot point, doesn't it?
<1> I think it'll still be a slight optimization.
<8> Aww, now he's resorted to namecalling :/
<17> Especially if the build doesn't exceed the amount of memory available.
<1> instead of uhh. what?
<13> TheC: If it's going on swap anyway...
<1> he already implied I had a ***ual fixation with fowl.
<8> Crap, he left
<1> hahah
<8> Whaaa, I want my toy back!
<17> longvvord, Well, I haven't had that problem yet. The default for tmpfs is to use 50% of my mem and I have 1GB so I haven't exceeded that yet. But by moving all the build into mem space the hdd isn't going bonkers and I can still do other things on my laptop.
<13> Coma: Go back to 20 :)
<8> I think this ircop fellow was a lot more amusing
