<6> Good afternoon. I'm having a problem trying to get an Adaptec 1542CF SCSI interface running under Linux. /sbin/modprobe aha1542 fails with a complaint it can't find the interface. I check the jumpers.. it's at a different address than expected: io=0x130, IRQ=11, and DMA=06 . I've tried /sbin/modprobe aha1542 0x130 and /sbin/modprobe aha1542 io=0x130 and it still can't find the interface. Could someone give some hint
<7> I have a bit of a problem... I tried installing Ubuntu on the second partition oof my laptop's hard drive, and it had an error installing the base system.
<7> After several attempts I gave up and cancelled the install, and tried to boot back to windows, and now it says there's no boot CD in the drive and it can't load an operating system. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
<7> I was very careful not to mess with the Windows partition, so I'm guessing it just made the second partition the only bootable one, then was going to set up a boot loader there.
