<0> longword : any clue how to make the other NIC to take the outbound trafic ?
<1> somewone on?
<2> nope.
<3> c-wolf, so you have 2 nics to 1 subnet and you want to specify which to use for outbound?
<3> you should be able to remote the routes for the other devices. A word of caution, though, I believe there is a ip setting you will need to disable because the return path of a ack is not the same as the outbound path, i believe...
<3> (remote=remove)
<4> rp_filter maybe
<0> Zeekius , well... i have 3 NICS, NIC 1 is a different subnet, NIC 2 and 3 same subnet as GW, atm NIC 2 does the outbound traffic, i want to be done by NIC1 .

<3> delete the route entry for nic1.
<0> SHouldn`t i bound the route on NIC1 then ? Seems its actualy bound on NIC2 .
<3> I also believe 'route' allows you to specify device as part of the route declaration
<3> Yeah, you want to remove the route on 2, and enter a route declaration on 1
<0> Yeah... thank you ;)
<3> np. I thing it is something like route add default gw ADDRESS eth0
<0> I think thats it... yeah...
<5> Anyone have any issues installing Java on a SuSE 10 system?
<6> Damnit how many times do I have to say it, nobody uses SuSE!
<5> :P
<5> It shouldn't really matter I'd imagine. I mean, it's a default install of Mozilla Firefox, and a RPM of the latest JRE. I followed the instructions to a T and it's still not working, Firefox acts like Java doesn't exist at all on the system.
<5> I'm reading java.com, lots of installation help and info, but nothing I'm trying is kicking in. It's annoying.
<6> Firefox will need restarting after any plugin changes
<5> yeah
<5> Been doing that with each thing I try
<5> So far I downloaded and ran the .bin they provide, it does the installation of Java in /usr/java, then the instructions state to link lib(something).so with a symbolic link in Mozilla's plugin directory. The only directory I found that resembles that is /opt/mozilla/include/plugin, so I did ln -s /usr/java(etc) to that lib file while in that directory. <---that's right, right?
<7> evening
<5> g'evening ger
<6> TRy makign a symlink in your home directory
<6> in ~/.mozilla/plugins/
<3> http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/faq#q2.2
<5> Oh, and I did a chown on that lib file to my user account too, thinking maybe it couldn't access it 'cause it was installed/owned as root
<5> Yeah, that's what I've done sof ar
<5> so far
<5> (that link)
<3> Did you try both plugins (page talked about 2)
<5> no...

<5> But I just realized I think I might've had the wrong plugins directory...
<5> I found a directory called /opt/MozillaFirefox
<5> As opposed to just /opt/mozilla
<5> (which is where I was workign)
<5> I'm setting up that symbolic link there and restarting Firefox
<5> Why can't this be as easy as setting up Adblock was. :-P heh
<5> Oh well, I remind myself that when I do get it working, I will be very proud of myself and feel more accomplished than if it had worked right away. O:-)
<8> hi all.. im a newbie to linux, how will allow ssh access to my box?
<8> it's already installed
<8> :)
<9> evening
<5> Hah, interesting... I found the firefox executable and did ./firefox and it tells me it's already running. hrm
<5> BOOOYAH!
<5> And we have Java! Woo!
<10> uhhh
<10> gratz?
<5> Now I can go play those Java-based porn games. :-P
<5> heh, thanks.
<5> Only took me like... a month.
<5> Well, not that I was trying all that hard until today, but still...
<10> java is pretty easy stuff sir
<5> It's just that there's like 5 installations of Mozilla/Firefox on my system, so it was hard to figure out which one was *the* Firefox that I wanted to link the Java plugin to.
<10> yeah
<5> There's /opt/mozilla, /opt/MozillaFirefox, and ... 2 others in /etc or /usr
<5> And the 'which firefox' command was giving me the wrong one
<5> So it just required my tracking down the right one (happened to be in /usr/share)
<11> CeruleanD: oh?
<11> What version of which?
<10> whereis firefox should've given you where
<5> 1.5.0.4 of Fiefox
<11> which --version
<5> hmm, didn't think/know to use that switch
<11> <-- author of GNY which
