<Ka-bar> ****ing comcast blows me
<K_F> does it swallow?
<Steakk> ****, i just was told that there are virtual keybs....small lil lazers that beam onto a small surface
<Steakk> and you just type
<Steakk> talk about spill-proof
<Ka-bar> K_F: no, it doesn't swallow, it spits.
<Steakk> http://www.laser-keyboard.com/
<siglite> yeah, I've heard about those
<K_F> yeah, old news
<Steakk> thats damned slick
<K_F> the ergonomics are bad
<K_F> too little resistance
<Steakk> what i wouldnt like is the fact that theres no movement though
<Steakk> i prolly couldnt get used to it...no travel distance on keys
<K_F> if you were going to use it any amount
<davidX> if my ethernet controller comes up as an intel 82801 under lspci which kernel module do i need to load?
<K_F> the kernel module for inte 82801
<RelDrgn> "intel 82801" appears to be the name of the entire chipset
<siglite> y eah
<davidX> hmm
<davidX> thats the only info i can get from lspci and i'm not seeing any eth0 i have to be doing something wrong
<RelDrgn> according to google anyway. The network card is probably either an intel 100 or 1000 depending on if its 100mbit or gigabit ethernet capable.
<Ka-bar> davidX: this a Dell box?
<K_F> soudns like my setup
<K_F> sounds*
<davidX> RelDrgn: do you know the modules names for either?
<davidX> Ka-bar: sorry not it is not
<davidX> it's a 1u server gigabyte board i believe
<libolt4> davidX: google is your friend
<RelDrgn> what is the exact line from lspci?
<Ka-bar> davidX: I think I had this issue recently... hang on, let me look at my notes.
<davidX> libolt4: hehe if only it were more lynx friendly ;)
<f3ew> davidX e1000, e100, or eepro100
<davidX> f3ew: thank you!
<f3ew> google is lynx friendly
<K_F> I have an e1000 on the same chipset
<libolt4> I never had problems with google under lynx or links
<K_F> 03:0e.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82545GM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 04)
<fibs> new line echo i
<davidX> doesn't help this monitor is only showing blue
<davidX> thanks again brb
<New0rder> wow, that's what I call plug and play... plugged in a USB2.0 CD burner (52x) and k3b it just worked.... Infact, A windows guy had a head start in burning these CD's but lost due to "corrupt ISO's"
<New0rder> heh
<New0rder> right.
<K_F> New0rder: the plug and play went a little overboard on my laptop for a while, whenever I plugged in the cd-recorder k3b started automatically
<libolt4> hrm sweet latest mplayer debian packages now are set to autodetect what the CPU supporrts
<New0rder> K_F, heh
<libolt4> K_F: it new you wanted to get that high quality goat pr0n off the computer quick before someone caught you :)
<K_F> hehe
<Viking667> lol.
<K_F> Liandrin: oh?
<fibs> any perl junkies in the crowd??
<Liandrin> K_F, I'm trying to make a 4-up flyer
<K_F> sounds simple enough
<K_F> which usually means it isn't
<Liandrin> K_F, yeah
<Liandrin> K_F, between printer margins, document borders, and gutters, I'm going insane
<Liandrin> K_F, I could almost just let my printer drivers do it... but the drivers put a border around pages in 1up-to-2/4up
<K_F> hehe
<Liandrin> which I don't want
<Liandrin> but I think I've cracked the math now
<Viking667> yeah. For two-up, it's 66%, for four up it's about 50%
<Liandrin> it's not just that, the math to scale the object from 1up to 4up is trivial
<Liandrin> it's working out exactly how big it has to be vs. its size, the size of the paper, the size of the printable area, ...
<Liandrin> plus the positinos of the four objects
<Liandrin> s/inos/ions/
<Viking667> justnot the orientation, right?
<Ka-bar> Save IRC, kill a BitchX user!
<Viking667> i.e.: v v
<Viking667> ^ ^
<Viking667> (where those point to top of the local page)
<Liandrin> right, I'm not making a booklet
<Viking667> ohh. so it's just four straight pages.
<Viking667> none of them upside down.
<Viking667> that's easier then.
<Liandrin> right, a flyer
<Viking667> huh? four pages? no cutting up?
<Liandrin> yes cutting up
<Viking667> or will they be cut up after printing?
<Viking667> hh.
<Viking667> Ah.
<Viking667> mpage, psnup, a couple of others. Hell, I think even oowriter handles that.
<Liandrin> it's the margins that are my problem
<Viking667> right.
<Liandrin> specifically, printable area
<Viking667> top/bottom, or left/right?
<Liandrin> because of my printer's limitations, my "quarter-letter" sheets are actually slightly smaller and off-centre
<Viking667> oh.
<Liandrin> a sheet of letter paper is 612x792 points
<Liandrin> my printer has left and right margins of 18 pt
<Liandrin> but the top margin is 4.8 pt, while the bottom margin is 36.48 pt
<Viking667> I had to deal with that sort of stuff with my laser printer. It's STILL complaining now.
<GotiX> hello all
<Liandrin> FINALLY!@#$
<SweD> pom popopom popopom pom pom
<SweD> (bonne nuit les peetits)
<Viking667> Liandrin: great!
<Cynic> Liandrin: miss A4 yet? ;)
<ZoNgiT> whats linux?
<siglite> hmm
<ZoNgiT> heheh sry i had to after reading the lamer.html
<siglite> eagle just did a splash and dash at yeager.
<siglite> buzzed my house at a pretty good clip.
<ToXican> xupa la ppolla
<Liandrin> siglite, what?
<siglite> Liandrin: an eagle buzzed my house (F-15 type_
<Liandrin> Cynic, A4 actually wouldn't have been much help, because of the asymmetric printer margins
<davidX> it was e100 can't thank you guys enough ;)
<Liandrin> Cynic, but yes, I do miss standard paper sizes
<EcKaR> Hello . I`m trying to make a pppoe connection and I can`t get it over ... can I get some help please?
<siglite> we're breaking water down into H and O
<siglite> EcKaR: what pppoe dialer are you using?
<EcKaR> i`ve tryied pppoe ... and adsl-start ... but no luck
<siglite> you didn't tell me what dialer you're using
<EcKaR> i`m using Roaring Penguin PPPoE Version 3.5
<siglite> who's your ISP?
<EcKaR> fx
<siglite> fx?
<EcKaR> fx-net
<EcKaR> yep
<K_F> rotard
<K_F> no wait, it seems to be international, my bad
<K_F> new zealand, germany, japan
<siglite> only google info I see is romulan though.
<EcKaR> romanian
<EcKaR> yes
<siglite> then there might be something of value here.
<siglite> http://monitorizare.fx-net.ro/viewtopic.php?t=1560&highlight=&sid=1e78b9e5002a549657560806046d5198

<Lion-O> sleep();
<K_F> so early?
<Lion-O> 3:30am? :P
