<0> hey, anyone knows a program for linux that does what ShrinkDVD does in windows (allows you to copy a dvd - often 4.5-8GB, decrypts it's protection and shrinks it to a 4.7G regular DVD-R size). Tried to use it via wine but it's too slow for my old laptop <1> mplayer perhaps. <0> Lion-O: I thought mplayer only plays it... <1> thats a wrong ***umption. <1> mplayer/mencoder are basicly one and the same. <0> Lion-O: can it shrink DVDs into DVD-R size? <1> it can rip the dvd into different formats, thus changing its size. <2> he's talking about ripping it off the DVD-9 and converting it to DVD-5 format <2> no transcoding to avi/xvid/etc <0> D-side: right, I am not interested in xvid or divx <2> mencoder's no good for that, but because the answer to your question is so EASILY googlable, you'll get no help from me. <1> there are tools which can do that though. 'transcode' iirc. <2> and to make it hurt even MORE: <0> DVD-9 2 DVD-5 <2> I even know the url to such a site off the top of my head. <2> now beat it
<3> oh, what the hell <3> those god damn morons went and installed pirated office licenses <4> wlfshmn: what morons? <2> bahahaha <3> it's time to sharpen the LART <2> father's office? <3> D-side: yeah, or more likely, certain employees at it <4> hehe <3> if they have a god damn problem with using OOo it would be nice if they took it up with -me- before doing anything this god damn stupid <5> wlfshmn: fake an email from FAST/MS saying that the licence tracking database has detected that an illegal licence has been installed multiple times on their site, and they must correct this at once or face prosecution... <6> bwhahahaha <3> DaveHowe: There will be a summary of the god damn cost of upgrading ot legal Office licenses on my fathers desk by tomorrow <6> :-) <5> wlfshmn: with a matching summary of replacing it with OO, I hope? :) <3> and probably another one advicing of the cost of doing the whole Windows Server + Exchange bit if Outlook is what they are after <2> is this all inter-office stuff, or will they need to transfer docs to actual Office users? <7> re <6> re-m00 <3> D-side: They transfer to office users, and OOo is set to produce MS formats by default. <2> OOo is great when its an all-OOo environment, bbut it still isnt 100% with real Office. <3> D-side: They do not produce complex documents. <2> okay, fair enough <3> hmm... 600$ for an office SMB edition license.. how.. uhm.. nice <2> how many seats? <2> or jjustt one? <3> 7 seats, but that figure was a single-seat license <4> hah <2> bah <6> bah <8> why the hell is it so hard to get an svg graphic to scale according to the embed window dimensions? <3> I think we have one upgradable license too.. so one of those seats "only" costs 400$ <2> what a deal! <3> atleast one machine is unable to cope with 2007's minimum reqs, so that is one new machine.. <2> 2007 looks like a piece of **** <4> 2007 is rather nice actually <4> finally an -actual- upgrade to office <9> amazing how many pyramid schemes are in here <4> dogbert2: yeah. but 2003 is basicly '97 with a new UI <4> or a few extra toolbars <4> in 2007 they have done major changes, and I like them :D <3> + 1100$ for a SBS software, + about the same in new server hardware.. <3> dogbert2: 2003 licenses are actually more expensive here.. <3> so, we are somewher ein the region of a 7k USD software and hardware upgrade project, and that still leaves us without spam filter, virus filtering and backup on the server, not to mention a hell of a lot of work for me <4> AcTion: I did NOT ask you to /msg me <3> now.. whom do I kill first? <10> ok sorry <4> wlfshmn: your dad <4> wlfshmn: get your cut of the will early :P <5> wlfshmn: deiiberately get yourself blacklisted at places like spamhaus, and then tell them they need to get their filtering fixed before that can be resolved? <3> DaveHowe: I could probably prefilter the mail infront of an exchange server I suppose, saves me from exposing that crap.. besides, exchange probably doesn't properly grok qmail mailbags anyway <3> DaveHowe: still leaves me backup which currently is done remotely over rsync though, which probably is a pain in the arse in windows <11> Blisss: #linuxro <12> cheeksy <12> se da aces? <11> Blisss: SPEAK ENGLISH DAMN IT. <2> she wants you to leave. <2> i do too.
