<0> ;)
<1> how do you make wget download to a specific directory?
<2> hi, I just upgraded from kernel 2.4 to 2.6, I included framebuffer support, however, the screen goes blank immediately after lilo, does anyone have any ideas?
<0> Phasic: man wget?
<3> d0odk: Try without fb support
<1> thats the documentation isnt it?
<0> yes, that is the documentation
<0> you can type /directory or /download or other things to search the documentation for them.
<0> d0odk: which framebuffer driver did you use?
<2> RelDrgn, I don't know, I just said yes to the option presented by gconfig
<0> d0odk: you need two parts, the framebuffer console and the driver for your card. It shouldn't have even shown you the option for framebuffer console unless you picked a card driver.
<2> hmm
<2> well my system has certainly gone to hell since I tried to upgrade it
<0> anyway, if you are using the generic vesafb driver, you'll need to specify a graphics mode to the kernel at boot time, try telling lilo "linuxkernelname vga=ask" and when it asks you what mode to use, try 313. if it works, try vga=313. If not, see [kerneldirectory]/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt for a list of the VESA graphics mode codes
<0> 313 should get you 800x600x16, which should work unless you have a really bad card :P
<2> haha I have a radeon of some sort

<2> I have it set to 773 right now
<0> wow. a two bot botnet. color me impressed :P
<2> if I change the graphics mode, can I totally lose linux?
<2> I mean, if I screw up lilo, I'm not going to be able to get back in
<0> .... that reuses the same nicks
<3> o_O
<0> hahah typo
<3> RelDrgn: Well, it's an effective ban
<0> that should keep the idiot busy for a while ;P
<2> RelDrgn, do you think it's a bad idea to set vga=313?
<0> d0odk: aaaanyways, if you don't set the vga= in lilo.conf until you have a working setting it should be ok
<2> ok, so just have it ask
<0> d0odk: yeah.
<2> why did you say linuxkernelname vga = ask
<2> rather than vga = ask
<0> d0odk: becauase when you're doing it at the lilo boot prompt, you specify [bootname] [options]
<0> if you don't want the default :P
<2> ohhhh I thought you meant that went into lilo.conf
<2> I'm just typing that in at the lilo boot prompt
<0> you can put it in an append= line in lilo.conf
<0> but I w***aying put it in at the boot prompt before making a permanent change to lilo.conf :P
<2> ok, I will try that
<2> I'll be back in like 4 minutes to whine some more probably
<4> ban it quick
<4> Steakk: i despise you and your ilk
<5> D-side, this is all for a client ... he wants a specific font on this page
