<0> welshy: you know how sometimes things are so wrong there is nothing you can do but ignore and move on? <0> well this whole situation keeps biting me back on my arse. <0> especially today. <0> argh. <1> hrmm <2> Hmm... quiet in here.
<1> now I have no room for my printer <2> Gotta question. I want to send 140 e-mails to 140 people. What's the easiest way to script that? <1> pmitros, just put all 140 e-mail addys into the ****in TO: line...its not that damned hard <2> steakk: That doesn't work. 140 e-mails. Each goes to 1 person. <2> steakk: Each goes to a different person. <1> 140 different e-mails? <2> steakk: Marginally different, but yes. <1> so, type up 140 emails, and each one has its own receiver <2> steakk: I generate them from a script. <1> So have the script send them <1> thats what sendmail is for <3> pmitros: so you want to spam them <2> atompngn: No. Spam is when there is many more e-mails, and no prior relation. <4> pmitros: mailx. Easy to dump an email to it from stdin. <2> lion-o: Thanks. <3> What's for breakfast, spam, spam, spam, green eggs, ham, and spam. <1> SPAM: Stuff Posing As Meat <4> atompngn: excuse me.. do you also have spam without ham and with beef? <1> actually, so do I. Fry it up, eat it with eggs or smth for breakfast <5> fried spam and cheese sandwiches =-)
<1> mash it up, put it in some fried potatoes, eat it as a hash type meal <3> Lion-O: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it. <2> Hmm... mailx=mail, which is what I used to use. It's okay, but it uses the local MTA, which is not configured for Internet delivery, so I'd need to reconfigure that. I guess that's okay. <4> pmitros: other nice option is JavaMail :) <4> man... this song ownes... <4> heavy, dark riffs. I love that. <2> Actually, might be easier to just pipe into nc. The people are mostly on one domain. Only 20 are on different domains than the main one <4> and in the middle a rather slow, not extremely wild, solo immediatly followed by going back to the same deep riff. Hmmmm <4> ooooh, I found it again! <4> its been AGES since I've heard this song... oooh, man. <2> lion-o: Can JavaMail act as an MTA, or does it require you to go through a seperate one? <4> actually, its the only Slayer song which Daph actually likes. Also due to the solo in the beginning and the somewhat slower guitar riffs. <4> pmitros: it can be told to act like an MUA, iow; it can drop its mail to another server. I don't know from mind how to do it (I used javamail with a servlet once and simply used the local mta because it was easier). However, there is a property you can set to use a remote server. <1> I think I am allergic to win32...everytime windows boots, i sneeze ferouciously <2> lion-o: I'd prefer to have what I'm running locally directly connect to the remote SMTP server, because I'd like responses to go to a dedicated e-mail address, and the mit.edu MTA filters e-mails that are not from mit.edu (or at least did a few years back). I could set up one of my boxes to run a non-local MTA, but that's a h***le (I don't know if this will be a one-time or a once-per-semester operation yet, so I'd prefer this to b <2> lion-o: to be Internet-enabled and then local again every time someone uses it) <1> hrmm <1> Internet Explorer is having problems loading images on pretty much every website <1> NO images are loading
