<0> smsie: That's the first and second rule, actually. :) <1> As you said so yourself, what constutes "pr0n" and what doesn't, is entirely in the eye of the beholder. What would happen at best is that a neural-net trained up by an individual beholder as it were, would become a somewhat primitive version of that beholder's opinion. <2> Shadur: not really. It's actually a more general single rule of marketting "Given the right sales pitch, people will buy **** and think they got a bargain" <0> Tron: That's *exactly* what I said. <2> it's a pr0n <2> ban it all! <2> think of the children! <2> war on terror!! <1> Shadur: I just have to articulate it in my own words so that my literal mind can grasp things more easily :) <1> Books aren't but my body is, and my mind is still rather attached to my body :P
<2> Tron: ah, I'll need a BIGGER staple then? :) <4> ohh. that we can fix too. free of charge. <1> You could try :) <4> i must warn you. i am 7th Dan Mikado. <1> I'm a black belt in origami. I could fold you to death! <4> hehe <2> Tron: I'm a 9th level master in Sneakupbehindhim-fu <1> smsie: I am trained int eh ancient Scottish art of F'uck'Yoo! <2> and I have a degree in Sneakybastard <1> I have a masters in CompleteCunt <1> This is going to keep escalating. <4> *grin* <1> In a few hours time it'll be galactic war. :P <4> "use the fork(), luke!" <1> Fork you! <5> Hush or I'll turn the universe back to the infinite small dot it big banged from <4> oh no. <2> well, fun as it is, it's not getting me to work <1> Silence or I'll swallow that dot. <4> we awaken the wolf. <1> smsie: Laters :) <2> and since I've persuaded some people on the east coast of the states to get up at stupid-o-clock for a conference call... <4> smsie: would an 48-hour gline help? <2> Revenger: nah, not needful <6> hello <1> goodbye <1> Heheh <7> z <8> Pizbit: Why, ofcourse. <8> This palce is certainly noisy today, I must say <5> wlfshmn: We're awed by your presence <1> Haha. I win. We're mving and merging the 2 London offices in about 2 month's time. I have a CAD drawing on file of the office footprint which I have printed out at A1. The other guy who's on the moving committee was arguing with me that the scale of the drawing at A1 (it's 1:50 at A0) was NOT as I was saying 1:100. It took me 30 seconds to explain precisely why it WAS 1:100 at A1. <1> s/mving/moving/ <1> He was saying something stupid like "All the measurements are root two" or something. I almost told him to stop using the crackpipe. <9> Happy birthday reality <9> Did you get something special? :D <5> what's "root 2"? <10> either IE is the **** (I know it is) or my webmail application makes this box her ein the lab freezing. <1> PolarWolf: That what I wanted to know. Actually, he was thinking in terms of the area of the floor space. <5> Tron: Hmm, ah <1> PolarWolf: But if you have a cad drawing plotted out at A1, where the scale is 1:50 at A0, then yes of course the AREA is double when plotted out at A0, but the _lengths_ when you measure them are going to be double. He was confusing area with length measurement. <5> Tron: Does the size of the paper matter when the scale is the same ? <1> PolarWolf: It does. If you have a floor plan which has been drawn such that whe it is printed out on A0 the scale is 1:50 , then if you print out that same drawing on an A1 sized piece of paper then the scale of the drawing becomes 1:100 <5> Tron: Yeah, but if the drawing scales, things will still be ok. The picture is just twice as large., <1> PolarWolf: Think measuring a length of wall with a ruler, using the printout. :) <5> Tron: Shouldn't be a problem <1> PolarWolf: The guy I was talking about was getting confused about that bit - He'd have been doing weird sums to calculate the actual length of the wall, had I not corrected his thinking. <5> Tron: In either format <11> does anyone know if there's a way to set up dns so that (anyhost).domain.com points to the same IP? <4> sure. <0> tooky: Wildcards. <4> wildcard. <5> tooky: Yeah, wildcards are supported <11> ah great, I thought they might be, just couldn't seem to find any info on google <11> probably because I hadn't thought of using the term wildcard :s <11> cheers guys
<4> its easy. <4> * IN A ip :P <9> s/ip/pr0n flick/ <9> :) <4> *G* <9> In terms of bind - the location of the wildcard in the config files doesn't seem to matter - is that the case in other DNS servers? <12> hello <9> Damn ... it's a little quiet here tonight. <13> yeah. <9> Hey Pizbit! <9> Hey Cynic! <14> Hey wazzy <15> hi <15> can u help me??? <13> ... with what? <0> andiny_linux, please go to http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html and pay careful attention to the suggestions there. It'll improve your chances of getting a useful answer. <15> by answering my question <0> andiny_linux: You mean the question you have yet to ask? <15> i have a problem with mylinux <1> Why am I not surprised. <15> my dhcp suddenly not working <13> did you check the logs? <13> no, not the wooden ones. <5> Gawds, gallery2 rawks <8> PolarWolf: Been running it for ages ;) <5> wlfshmn: I've been using gallery1 <10> 8) <10> yeah it's nice. <8> PolarWolf: I used to, but I upgraded as soon as debian allowed for it ;) <5> Trying to get my head around templating or integration <5> wlfshmn: Oh, I just grabbed the tarball :P <8> PolarWolf: tsk. there is a perfectly good .deb ,) <5> wlfshmn: No doubt <8> PolarWolf: You aren't trying to tell me you are unpure, are you? <5> wlfshmn: I'm unpure :) <5> I'm wondering if I should also upgrade to a real CMS or keep using this simple but effective engine <8> PolarWolf: Evil person. <5> wlfshmn: Aye <5> I like to keep control over what I do :) <16> well, while I'm waiting for a new hdd and copy of windows to be sent I got the gf using debian unstable. I got everything pretty much setup the same as she had in windows except getting USB m*** storage auto-mounting <17> safemode: using crossover office or something? <16> no. She doesn't use office <17> safemode: hehe, lucky you ;) <13> OpenOffice? <17> Demonen: you know the drill when it comes to OpenOffice vs MS office... <17> Demonen: especially if it's for a company. <18> hi * <19> PolarWolf: thanks for saying gallery2, I noticed there's a security update :) <13> Clone: This company made the transition pretty well. <17> Demonen: I guess it doesnt have to deal with other companies quite often then, because the havent switched and the compatiblity is never 100%. <13> Most stuff exchanged with other companies is in .sql or similar formats. <13> csv is common, too. <17> Demonen: you send your text documents in sql format? <13> ... what text documents? <13> the text that gets exchanged is mostly .html <17> Demonen: you don't have sales people that email everything as 10MB .doc attachments no? <13> Clone: nope. <13> And if that were to happen, 90% of it is translated to OpenOffice just perfectly. <13> I belive the problem is an imagined one in most cases. <17> Demonen: it's not. <20> openoffice has always worked great for me.. usually just the font that gets screwy <17> if you start using the more "advanced" features like autoindexing and stuff, it gets messy real fast. <17> not even talking about layout issues. <17> but this is a pointless discussion. <20> i could see that happening. <20> now that i think about it, i think in the past 2 years i've used openoffice maybe 5 times <20> 2 of those times, the program crashed <20> it wasn't even a hardcore crash. <20> it just POOFED and went away
