<0> Ejmon, was that meant for me ?
<1> DevZer0: you're trying to mount a dead drive, or a dead network share
<2> dont know, is it you who ran the mount?
<0> nope, i didnt.
<0> i am checking fstab. see whats there.
<1> what does ps auxwf tell you about who or what started that mount?
<0> checking
<0> looks like the cpanel script called initquota called mount with -o remount
<3> linux.
<0> hmm. i will give it a while and see. i don't have alot of experience with virtual servers.
<4> RelDrgn, oooooh, somehow I've never managed to notice the f flag
<5> DevZer0: *how much*?
<1> DevZer0: what was it mounting?
<1> DevZer0: and what is its status flag?
<5> DevZer0: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-PRO-1000-MT-Dual-Copper-Port-Gigabit-Server-NIC_W0QQitemZ9736100558QQcategoryZ51196QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
<0> RelDrgn, how do i check the status flag ?

<0> oh u mean R <--
<1> hm, if it's R it's doing something
<0> i started the cpanel setup and then it said initializing quota, it never even asked me if i want quota enabled.
<0> i think thats probably whats going on
<1> no idea wtf mount would be doing, though I guess with quotas if you have a hojillion files it might actually be counting them all up to see if youre within quota or not
<1> which will take a while.
<0> RelDrgn, i suspect the slowness due to this being a virtual dedicated server, god knows how many partitions they made
<0> i hardly have any files, just got the system today. only has the os in it
<1> DevZer0: right your virtual server has to share hd time with everyone else
<0> RelDrgn, yes. i got this hoping the delays on godaddys shared hosting will go away. i am actually getting tired of them. I called them upto tell them that my dads website is running slow and i suspect that the mysql server probably has a high load, but they said there is no way they can check the loads on their mysql servers
<0> i can't belive that they don;'t want to help their customs :-(
<0> all these web hosting companies and ISPs really oversell their stuff :-( very sad.
<2> what do you want for 10 bucks a month?
<0> yes i agree on that but then they should make the case and point clear
<0> they always promise the world when you signup.
<2> of course, thats how capitalism works :)
<1> DevZer0: they sound like idiots. If they can't figure out how to operate a mysql server, I suggest jumping ship asap ;)
<6> I agree though, commentaters are ****en stupid
<6> Always trying to analyze thing to death.
<0> RelDrgn, yeah most likley this is the 3rd time i am going to switch hosting companies in 2 months time.
<0> 1st lunarpages, now godaddy
<1> hard to tell you who to switch to, i know some regulars here run hosting but can't remember who (and sitting around begging for hosting will probably get you banned ;) but they're at least ***ured to be clueful.
<7> K_F: Dallas?
<8> dallas?
<7> * K_F does
<8> oooooh, gotcha
<2> heheh :)
<7> yeah, bad j/k
<8> never heard of that pr0n movie... who is debbie again?
<7> never seen that movie.. but everyone is talking about it
<8> DevZer0: mind a SPAM URL in a pmsg?
<2> this is a movie from 1978, so it is really lame for todays standards :)
<8> teacher overheard me and a friend talking about it may many years ago.... "oh.. that one"
<0> K_F, sure
<8> there you go.
<9> hello
<9> why this :
<10> hi
<9> *** [CMaster]: Attempting to make PostgreSQL connection to: 127.0.0.1; Database Name: cservice
<9> *** [CMaster]: Unable to connect to SQL server.
<9> *** [CMaster]: PostgreSQL error message: FATAL 1: cannot open /usr/local/pgsql/ data/global/1262: Permission denied
<8> should be self-explainatory.
<9> i have root access
<9> what can i do ?
<8> you probably shouldn't
<7> K_F: I had a teacher which was supposed to teach geography but instead rambled on with his stories of hooking up with hookers and getting arrested on cyprus..
<8> Bjprn-: hehe
<9> can you help me ?
<7> K_F: Almost to say he was a substitute teacher..
<7> oops, there went a root kiddie..
<7> where did all the ops go?
<8> off to watch DDD ?
<1> hah. talking to a client
<7> indeed. in 3D too.
<1> "ok, can you read me the ID number from the letter you got" "<proceeds to read the entire letter, repeating several key phrases. The ID number is at the end.>"
<1> "ok, finally, thanks" "<proceeds to start reading the entire letter again>"
<1> it would be one thing if this person could operate in full duplex, but nothing goes into their head when they're talking.
<11> RelDrgn: he already uses their input to read numbers off paper

<7> simplex perhaps?
<5> At least back in the 70's pr0n stars looked like real women
<1> wlfshmn: hm, good point
<12> Guys where can i get ati drivers for rh9? i already downloaded and run the installer from ati.com but still no opengl
<7> whyzzyrd: depends on where you find your pr0n stars.
<1> DirtyJayx: rh9? You might as well be asking for drivers for win3.1
<12> lol
<12> rh is not that bad is it? :/
<7> whyzzyrd: there's much things to say about the pr0n industry.
<1> DirtyJayx: since rh9, there have been 5 fedora core releaes. You're that many versions out from modern. Anyway, you should still be able to get ati's driver to work, you just need to make sure your kernel is supported by the driver.
<13> kosmo: saw the movie?
<12> 5? Damn, i'm outdated
<14> What's that free CD burning software for windows...Burn something or other
<14> Supposed to be good for audio CDs
<14> Inferno?
<14> Totally drawing a blank here
<15> hello
<16> Hey guys, I know ya'l hate BNCs since they're usually BadBadThings (tm) but I need to find a good simple one since I don't use a console IRC client with screen. Anyone able to recommend one? I just need it to maintain the connection and log for me while I'm offline
<3> mirc
<13> lol?
<17> my recommendation would be to use a console irc client with screen
<16> mirc isn't a BNC :P Nor do I use windows :)
<3> i've ran it under linux.
<16> siglite: Heh No :P I like gui clients. heh
<3> so don't give me that.
<3> and why use a console client when you can use a gui one.
<16> NineVolt: It's not a BNC, it's a GUI IRC client, which I already have :P
<14> Damn...
<3> Falchion : what features does it lack that a bnc doesn't?
<14> I cannot think of the name/spelling of this CD burning program.
<3> mirc+vnc
<14> It's something like inferno
<7> inferno is that evilish os
<16> NineVolt: Uh, the fact that if I turn off my laptop and it's running Mirc, it won't stay online and log, which is what I said it has to do :P
<7> dunno if it's more evil than freebsd though
<14> It's a windows CD burning app
<7> lets see if it is
<5> reality: no idea. There's CD burner XP Pro
<16> NineVolt: Uh, what part of BNc and not an IRC client do you not understand? :P
<17> I'm so pissed my stupid home firewall kernel panicked.
<14> whyzzyrd: Freware?
<8> irssi for teh win
<14> +e
<5> reality: yup
<14> Good
<7> siglite: new kernel?
<17> Bjprn-: yeah
<8> Falchion: psybnc
<17> I did something Very Wrong, but not sure what.
<3> Falchion : if you're running a bnc on your laptop and you turn it off, it won't stay online and log either.
<5> reality: no idea if it's great for audio.
<8> Falchion: but my recommendation is just using screen and irssi
<3> so again, where does mirc fall short that a bnc doesn't?
<8> NineVolt: you can have the BNC continue logging
<15> speaking of audio, i got a question about audio and linux
<1> Falchion: ....isn't "bnc" the name of the program? :P
<17> if the bnc is somewhere besides on your laptop, maybe
<3> K_F : even after the system it's running on has been turned off?
<3> that's amazing.
<7> siglite: Upgrade or downgrade then.. it is easy as that if you can't find the bugs by anywhere else.
<3> i didn't know bnc's could run without any hardware.
<8> NineVolt: uhm, eh
<8> I misread then
<17> Bjprn-: oh, I'm sure it's a pebkac thing.
<14> whyzzyrd: The issue is that Nero 7 is borked for burning audio
<5> reality: oh?
<5> reality: howso?
<14> mp3 to wav conversion is borked.
<14> Causes skips
<15> ive got a p166 with 16mb of ram and a 100mb hd with an hercules monitor.. i would like to use it with mp3
<3> i never suggested running mirc on the laptop either.
<5> reality: I can safely say I've never had CD Burner XP Pro narf up audio that way.
<3> run mirc where you'd run the bnc.
<3> and then vnc into it.
