<4> hi Lion-O
<5> Lebiatan: no
<6> anyway. I thought that the reason outlook had calenders were so people could plan stuff
<6> and see that people were already busy before trying to push more work on them
<6> jesus this week has been a outlook hell :P

<6> not to mention Ive gotten nothing of what I -orignally- had planned to do this week done
<6> it seems whatever I do, NEVER leave the office during work-hours
<6> not even when on an ***ignment. the second I leave people obviously feel free to hammer me with mail
<4> fredk
<9> Look, it's the blade bitch :)
<6> oh. btw. some sales people decided I was the perfect candiate for a job involving win2003, ad and gpo, remote deployment, windows updatse services, rhel 3 & 4, solaris 9, vmware esx + a bunch of other things Ive never heard of
<6> someone guess why. please
<6> all at a -grand- scale btw :P
<9> They mistook you for me
<6> somewhere in that mess "SQL" was mentioned, and I am the SQL Expert
<9> I dropped a resume on monsterboard once
<9> Well...needless to say the most weird recruiters thought I was the "perfect" candidate for whatever ****ed up job they had
<6> well. Im just impressed how he managed to think that because I knew SQL Server, I would be the perfect candiate for a job involving 20 other factors I know nothing about. particulary since we HAVE people who know those other things
<9> I don't recall that resume including enything about being a .NEt developer, but I guess it's a free interpretation of "experience with Windows 2003"
<6> hehe
<9> They're pretty much desperate to get good staff again
<6> oh well
<6> Ill just try to get back in single-tasking mode and figure out WTH kind of food I want/need and what needs to be done about it
<6> <-- handles stress badly
<5> Jostein: if they were any smarter, they'd have real jobs instead of being in sales. :P
<10> I loathe meetings with time-wasting morons
<11> jos : weed
<6> no
<6> I dont do weed anymore.
<6> but you reminded me to fetch a beer.
<11> maybe that's why you handle stress badly :P
<11> or that.
<6> I had a nasty mushroom OD. after that anything psychedelic is sheer hell
<6> even weed
<11> ah, ****s.
<11> i can't even eat mushrooms, alergies.
<12> local sun parties used to be fun. Short demo of new things, then beer and pizza...
<11> tried twice. the second time i almost cut myself open to relieve the pain :P
<12> those wacky sales reps...
<13> stupid cow-orker. Schedules a SCM repository conversion at 8pm on a Saturday
<6> anyway.
<6> this beer is looking good
<11> i want beer :'(
<6> I just hope -noone- calls me today, unless its about drinking beer.
<6> I dont like phones :P
<5> so calling you about drinking whisky is out?
<6> I was thinking about having a useful, relaxed day tomorrow
<6> whisky today rules out useful tomorrow :P

<14> Jostein: pick up your phone dammit
<14> aaanyways... /me puts up a sign: beer; this way
<9> Hahahaha
<14> 4?
<9> Yeah, that one
<9> "chosen by fair dice roll"
<14> jup
<6> K_F: dinner and beer here already
<6> K_F: already planned to meet up with some guy from work
<14> Jostein: ditto :)
<14> Jostein: just couldn't help it when I read the backlog :p
<6> so he's supposed to call and say "beer, paddies" and Im off, and seriously considering turning off the phone for the weekend
<15> Hi all
<15> Can somebody tell me how I can make it happen that when a user creates a file in a certain dir that the permissions are set as 770 instead of 744.
<4> BezNalogov: man umask
<15> ok thanks
<6> K_F: good choice
<16> I have a Samba server setup with domain logons but when I try to add a Windows XP machine to the domain I get: A domain controller for the domain DOMAIN could not be contact. Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly. Can someone help me out here please? I've never had this much trouble getting a computer to join a domain name.
<6> might be as simple as case
<6> Samba is a bitch about case
<16> Nope, I made sure that case was correct.
<6> at least from linux trying to communicate with windows
<16> It's pretty much stating that it's not finding the Domain Controller. I setup DHCP so it comes from the same server but it still can't find it. Not sure what the hell is going on.
<6> well. its firday. Im exhausted. Ive jusst had dinner and Im drinking beer
<6> debugging one of samba's many quirks does not sound like a plan to me :P
<9> Heheh, Anni Friesinger rocks
<6> anyway. according to some norwegian tabloid, I should be able to afford a 1,5 million NOK loan on top of what I have now
<6> that -might- get me a 30 sqm apartment in the middle of nowhere
<6> yay
<9> Jostein: Hmm, hmm, 150k NOK whould buy you a nice house in the sticks
<6> well. if I leave out of the equation that I should be able to get a job nearby or get to work in less than 8 hours, Im sure that will do
<6> :P
<9> Jostein: Pff, you guys are used to distances.
<6> no way
<17> PolarWolf: ahem
<6> I dont even have a drivers licence
<9> Jostein: You ****
<17> PolarWolf: nor I
<9> Nanuq: Err?
<6> I havent really needed it ever before
<17> PolarWolf: "you guys are used to distances"
<9> Nanuq: Yeah, but you're weird like that
<9> Nanuq: Yeah.
<6> wtf do you mean by that anyway?
<17> because Canada is a tiny island of the Caribbean, don't ya know?
<9> See, here the next village is, well, 2km or so away

<6> PolarWolf: right now work is 10 minutes walk away
<18> OldMonk, what
