<1> Zoffix: unrar
<2> Zoffix: 'unrar' or 'rar' strangely enough.

<2> and try not to act like a retard if such a thing is possible for you.
<6> explique le comand pour emech de donne acces
<8> its please not plz
<7> Guess not
<2> you can almost expect as much from the romulan hail.
<7> Yup
<8> im not going to ask
<7> Once you've been in here a while you'll understand
<9> some ideas here ? - -> http://paste.uni.cc/9087
<2> BattleNet: try asking an actual question.
<8> Pizbit ive been in here 3 years
<8> I still don't understand some of us are think cunts and are just here to be laughed at :p
<7> Becka: Mis-understood your comment then, my bad
<9> Lion-O, can you please look at it.. i've tryed flushing iptables and it still blocks TCP
<2> BattleNet: like I said, try asking an actual question.
<2> BattleNet: Why don't you check out http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html ? Maybe you'll learn how to ask more meaningful questions...
<2> What makes you think that this output is related to your problem at hand? You ***ume too much, and so far your "questions" and "problems" are really getting annoying. Why should I look at some pastebin before even knowing if it is something within my expertise?
<8> [piz no you [probably didnt however.... i still dont get it
<9> ok Lion-O sorry
<4> back.
<8> welcome back
<7> D-side: We've decided
<4> why thank you.
<4> Pizbit: yes?
<7> D-side: Dunno
<4> thats... quite a decision you've come to.
<7> Yup
<8> D-side always a plkeasure I ***ure you :)
<4> glad to see you've taken such a strong stance on the issue.
<10> Decided on what?
<11> topic ?
<10> Because I got strong stances on just about everything
<11> he's still in the process of trying
<8> i dont think theyve decided o anything i think thats the point?
<7> D-side: Much blood was spilt
<4> and gnashing of teeth as well?
<7> yup
<10> Deciding over nothing?
<10> WTF are you people on?
<4> its fun to play UN
<9> Lion-O, well al TCP packets a are blocked by the firewall and i want to make an outgoing HTTP connection to some other host and receive traffic back I tryed iptables -F to flush the rules, set iptables-save >> /root/iptables.large to save an iptables script to reinstate them. ... iptables -L -v -n doesn't show anything being wrong but still there cannit be any connections done - http outgoing ftp incoming/outgoing

<7> reality: We'vce decided, that's all there is to it.
<2> BattleNet: from the current host or somewhere on the network ?
<10> To join the foreign service? To have the abortion? To bake a pie?
<10> What?
<4> BattleNet: uh. whats being blocked is port 445. thats not even close to being ftp.
<9> Lion-O, somewhere on the network
<2> BattleNet: ever heard of the 'nat' table ?
<9> Lion-O, yes! .....well checking nat again
<2> so how is "iptables -L -v -n" going to show "something wrong" with regards to connections initiated on your LAN when all it does is list the tables directly involving with connections from the current host?
<7> reality: I think it goes along the lines of: 1) We've decided 2) ... 3) Profit
<2> this is beginner iptables knowledge.
<2> If you don't know your **** then read up on it before ****ing up on live systems.
<2> and don't try to make the inhabitants of this channel do your work for you. its not going to happen.
<9> Lion-O, sorry didn't understand there what you asked... it's current host
<2> "man iptables" -> filter: This is the default table (if no -t option is p***ed). It contains the built-in chains INPUT (for packets destined to local sockets), FORWARD (for packets being routed through the box), and OUTPUT (for locally-generated packets).
<2> WOW. we have a NAT table!!1 -> nat: This table is consulted when a packet that creates a new connection is encountered. It consists of three built-ins: PREROUTING (for altering packets as soon as they come in), OUTPUT (for altering locally-generated packets before routing), and POSTROUTING (for altering packets as they are about to go out).
<9> Lion-O, i don't want this channel to work for me i just run out of ideas( maybe that happened too fast )and i asked here for a clue
<2> now lets see, what would I be looking at when there is /something/ going wrong with clients on my lan.
<2> I know, the FILTER table.
<2> All tcp packets are being blocked. So in other words the firewall doesn't p*** ANY traffic at all.
<9> yes
<4> heh. Lion-O's on a roll.
<7> Hut hut!
<2> Then its time to setup a decent firewall I'd say.
<2> And get a decent admin who knows how to disect such aproblem by actually THINKING THINGS OVER
<2> Can you ping the firewall by any chance?
<2> Then, what does 'tcpdump' on the firewall tell you about incoming/outgoing traffic? Or ethereal or iptraf or...
<2> Finally, can you reach the outside on the firewall itself.. Also funny; blame the firewall while the outgoing connection is fubr.
<2> THINK
<2> systemadmin basics - chapter 2 - troubleshooting your problems. Then again, that book also strongly suggests against using ancient boxes like RH8 in production environments so I doubt you ever read it.
<9> Lion-O, ok you helped me a lot here thanks don't get me wrong i am not stoping thinking/searching myself for a clue but somethimes i have too many things to handle at once and i need extra help
<12> hey, how do I add something to the $PATH variable?
<11> hire someone then
<8> oh my im bieng chatted up by a les :-/
<2> there we go.
<7> Cynic: moo
<13> ello Pizbit, Lion-O, whitecap
<2> yo Cynic
<8> didnt know undernet came with #les :P-/
<8> good night take care have fun goodbye
<0> how do I match anything exept the pattern?
<14> Zoffix: man grep
<0> grep??
<15> Zoffix: reverse it
<0> oops sorry wrong channel
<16> he actually got the message
<14> lol
<14> hey XyZzY
<15> sup Emerson?
<14> XyZzY: reverse it, how about spin it upside down :)
<16> the monitor
<14> gnubee: no
<14> s/no/nod
<15> Emerson: inside out is my favorite with inside out gas
<14> gnubee: eek
<14> lol
<16> heavy as hell
<16> sold my 21" crt
<16> lol
<15> the 30" lcd I have is not terribly heavy. but the old 21" CRT was a fscking boat anchor
<14> XyZzY: yeah same here
<16> i just remembered ... i fat fingered the keyboard while typing in evolution then suddenly i was typing in reverse
<14> my old 21" is still in great condition, just dont see any use with it anymore
<16> e.g. help would be pleh
<16> would you guys know which key combo triggered the reverse typing?
<14> gnubee: no clue, would depend on the desktop/wm
<16> xof nworb kciuq ehT
<16> something like for "The quick brown fox"
