<1> http://dat.4chan.org/b/src/1152154150298.jpg Not Safe for Anything. OxD yer secret's out
<2> Sifnet: no, a device need sto be seen by the motherboard as a potential boot device to boot off it (grub is loaded from the device)
<3> well here goes nothing
<1> schitzo: open the link the WTF summons you
<3> bsims: huh? what?
<1> http://dat.4chan.org/b/src/1152154150298.jpg Not Safe for Anything. OxD yer secret's out

<4> Hey guys. I'd like to serve files (seed, I guess) from a FreeBSD box, which is currently a dedicated server. I'd like these files (original content) to be available on various networks, such as through Bit Torrent, and other p2p services. Can anyone recommend good daemons or utilities for command-line FreeBSD?
<3> bsims: Not the beeeeeg red buttooonnnnn
<1> "I got HSV-1 and I have no idea how. An STD without any ****ing ***. Only I could fail that hard." God I love 4chan
<0> bsims: but nothing I can write onto a floppy that boots from the floppy and loads usb routines?
<1> Sifnet: I have no clue sorry try #linuxhelp

<3> advTech: there is some CLI type thing that uses curses and libtorrent or something like that
<3> advTech: that's probably what you want.
<4> It probably is, schitzo :)
<4> I think it's Python.
<1> "slept with a fat chick once, and after I got off I realized that I had actually been ****ing the sweaty folds at the left of her *****. That's why I don't drink Jager anymore.
<1> Gag that one made me throw up a little
<5> Hah
<4> HAHA, yeah, that one was bad.
<3> advTech: no it wasn't python based. all C and curses.
<1> Sifnet: I have seen bootfloppys that load say knoppix from the cd for bios that don't boot off of cds
<4> Ah, I'm thinking of the python-based bt client, then.
<6> original bittorrent and forks are written in python
<6> and there is one with an curses interface
<6> the CLI, Curses, and GUI all come with the bittorrent distribution
<4> Awesome.
<3> advTech: http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/
<3> sorry C++ not C
<4> Great resource, thanks.
<7> I remember a curses torrent client.
<3> siglite: curses foiled again
<6> The official bittorrent, as well as bittornado come with curses front ends
<1> siglite: btlaunchmanycurses.bittorrent btshowmetainfo.bittorrent
<6> very ugly though
<7> this is great
<7> http://news.yahoo.com/photo/060703/photos_sc/2006_07_03t112321_337x450_us_space_shuttle
<7> that's a great shot.
<1> I Saw a Turtle
<7> I think the turtle wanted to go to space.
<6> It looks like the turtle was photoshopped in
<3> ok so mysqldump all db's. shutdown.. trash /opt/mysql.. install new.. mysql import..
<7> I don't think it was.
<4> This is the key: "LibTorrent is a BitTorrent library written in C++ for *nix, with a focus on high performance and good code. The library differentiates itself from other implementations by transfering directly from file pages to the network stack. On high-bandwidth connections it is able to seed at 3 times the speed of the official client."
<3> what could go wrong
<1> siglite: Ia Ia http://dat.4chan.org/b/src/1152153698747.jpg
<3> advTech: yes which is why I told you about it
<3> advTech: since it sounds like that is what you want to do
<7> bsims: ok, that's strange.
<4> I definitely do. With other protocols, too, but BT is a tough nut to crack, so it's nice to do first.
<4> Why reinvent the wheel, right? ;)
<4> 3x the speed is a no-brainer.
<1> Cthulhu
<1> siglite: http://dat.4chan.org/b/src/1152155459584.jpg
<5> bsims, who made that picture?
<1> siglite: nah odd is I upgraded Xorg to the new modular version and nothing broke
<1> Mr_Fire: No idea I found it on 4chan's Random
<5> Ah. It's a trip though.
<3> well that upgrade was painless.
<8> Good night
<9> ok, buh-bye now
<8> Ka-bar: hi... can i ask some to u ?
<8> it's about linux...
<6> siglite: http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=usspaceshuttle9ud.jpg
<9> well, you can ask the channel. There may be someone here who can answer. But don't get offended if you don't get an answer.
<8> ok...
<8> it's about configure internet
<8> cablemodem internet
<8> im from argentina
<7> atompngn: that's photoshopped.
<6> I know, I just did it
<6> The turtle looked photoshopped too
<7> I'm pretty sure the turtle's a real photo.

<8> and the other day come the people who must install internet in my computer, and he say that it's imposiblle install internet on linux, that i must install Win XP, i don't think so...
<9> CoQueX: Is Spanish your native language? If so, you may have better luck on the #linuxlatino channel.
<8> Ka-bar: Thank you, my english is horrible xD
<9> CoQueX: OK, that guy didn't know what he was talking about. He's an idiot.
<8> Ka-bar: i think so xD
<9> I have Linux running on a cable modem just fine, as do MANY of us.
<9> You really should not have to install anything on your computer to make it work. The cable modem should get a DHCP lease and hand it to your linux system, which should be set up for DHCP. You may also want to look into getting a small firewall/router box like a Linksys, Netgear or D-link or something like that which will handle all the cable modem stuff for you.
<9> Because, you really DO want a firewall.
<8> ok, thanks
<7> or learn iptables.
<8> Whos is DHCP ?
<8> nono i just prefear install Linksys
<8> once i read something about iptables and... it's no easy xD
<9> siglite: aye, but putting a little blue box in between your cable modem and your system solves a whole bunch of issues at once.
<6> Put linux on your linksys and learn iptables!
<7> haha
<7> yeah!
<6> siglite: oh ****, MS landed a deal to be the sole supplier of Formula 1 engine control units
<7> atompngn: oh god
<7> atompngn: say it ain't so
<6> siglite: what happens when your engine control unit craps out at 250 mph
<3> atompngn: what is this crack smoking stupidity you speak of?
<9> atompngn: So F1 cars are now just going to randomly explode during the race?
<7> Ka-bar: they kind of do that anyway... they run 'em pretty hard
<7> atompngn: all kinds of ****ed up **** can happen
<7> atompngn: you have a URL or something?
<6> http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/05/2357227
<9> siglite: I don't mean explode as in throw a rod, etc. I mean high-order detonation that wipes out a whole section of the grandstands.
<7> Ka-bar: it happens
<7> I'll be damned
<7> http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/27956/
<7> someone needs to bitchslap bernie
<7> there's so much wrong with that, I don't know where to start.
<7> I bet it'll have DRM for tires.
<9> hahahaha.... from a /. comment.... "Let's start with having to press CTRL-ALT-DEL on the steering wheel at 200 MPH and take it from there.."
<3> holy ****
<7> "We're sorry, your Michelin tires are not authorized for this vehicle."
<6> lol
<6> That's like my wlan card
<3> siglite: spec bridgestones in '08
<7> schitzo: exactly, enforced by microsoft DRM.
<3> siglite: michelin told F1 to go **** themselves
<6> please remove tires and reboot car
<7> lol
<3> wonder if Ferrari will be hiring windoze hackers
<9> "To shut down the car, please click on the "Start" button"
<7> schitzo: if I were that guy from sysinternals, I'd be sending a resume to scuderia post-haste.
<6> Keyboard not found press any button to continue
<6> Or would that be dashboard not found
<3> siglite: yeah, no ****.
<3> siglite: wonder if they'll handout ECU's at the track
<7> surely not....
<7> schitzo: that just makes me sick
<6> surely Microsoft will help them with their goal of slowing down those cornering speeds.
<3> siglite: well it makes sense. Give each team an ECU for shop/dyno work
<3> siglite: then hand out new ones at the track to make sure no one hacked it
<7> atompngn: they're not really interested in slowing down corner speeds.
<7> atompngn: it's the straight line speeds they want to slow down.
<3> and corner speeds
<3> from what I grok'd from that article
<7> I think thier issue is that they can't keep a driver safe going 186mph into a wall.
<6> This car does not p*** Windows Genuine Advantage tests. Please call 1-800-microsoft to resolve this issue.
<10> anyone here know what RDF tags are used for in XHTML? and are they required?
<7> wouldn't it be great if they did some **** like leave wifi enabled or something, so a fan could hack the car from the stands?
<7> so stop being a criminal
<11> siglite...not me, the idiot who tried to p*** a phony $100 to pay for a meal at a restaurant I was eating at
<10> db2: that woulda made the meal that much more interesting
<10> s/db2/db4
<11> Steakk...ohhh, the best part is more funny, I outweigh the guy by some 110lbs, and told him that i'd bite his nose off...
<10> haha..apparantly the meal wasnt filling enough
<11> Steakk, when the cops showed up, the guy was telling them that I'm a cannibal (cops look at me, and I told them "I threatened to bite his nose off", cops start laughing and one of them said "it would be an improvement")
<10> haha
