<1> the good thing is that I wasn't stopped in 180, that I had not too long before I got stopped

<3> this track on Cafe del Mar Vol 13.. thought this bit was an artifact of Vorbis
<3> turns out, even the uncompressed version exhibits it
<1> dogbert2: hopefully there won't be a copy-cat
<2> K_F, I had my arsenal out last night, since the cops sealed off the area (did a piss poor job of it, since I could get into the neighborhood through the use of side streets) :)
<1> heh
<2> sawed-off shotgun, .40 caliber, 9mm, and .44 automag, plus M-80's, flame thrower, etc

<1> echo "abc" | gpg2 --p***phrase-fd 0 --homedir . --debug-all book.pgp
<1> yet it bugs out on pinentry
<1> it doesn't ****ing need it
<1> there, adding --batch fixes it when using --p***phrase-fd apparently, but not command-fd, hmm
<8> BILLWindows
<1> Jostein: around 1900?
<9> ?
<1> Nanuq: you weren't supposed to understand that, hehe
<9> indeed.
<1> or at least expected to
<9> i all scrolled up like i missed something.
<1> nah, I'm making dinner today, a salmon dish
<1> and as it is boring to eat alone I invited some friends, including jostein
<9> mhmm.
<10> K_F: tsk, you fail at internet insults
<10> K_F: you say "I invited from friends and Jostein "
<1> wlfshmn: hehe, hey I just threw 1600 USD out the window...
<10> K_F: wtf, send them to -me- instead
<1> so I can give jostein a small "friend" hehe
<1> wlfshmn: added taxation

<1> stupid ticket..
<10> ..
<10> 1600USD in tickets?
<10> sounds like it would be cheaper to just take a cab ;)
<1> one ticket
<11> K_F, ran someone over?
<1> nope, just got a police measuring my speed over 2.5km on a motorcycle behind me
<9> $1600 for speeding?!
<1> jup
<9> wow.
<11> how many percent?
<1> percent?
<1> oh, right... we don't have that kind of system here
<11> how much over the speed limit
<1> ah, thought you meant insurance, iirc it is affected in the US..
<1> 78 in a 50
<1> mph
<1> 126 in a 80 in kph
<9> that's not even that bad.
<1> just got out of a 100-zone
<9> you guys have some crazy tickets out there.
<10> well, it is 60% over the limit ;)
<10> but yeah, they -do- have crazy tickets
<10> come here instead, it's much cheaper to get caught speedingin .se ;)
<1> anyways, it is is a quarter of what I pay for insurance on my car annualy anyways
<1> so a little variance... I call it extra taxation and we'll leave it at that
<12> Florida just instituted a law where if you are over either 20 or 30mph, you are REQUIRED to show up in court.
<1> the suspended license is slightly more annoying, 3-4 months (max 6)
<10> You can't pay more than 600$ for speeding here
<1> yeah, I accepted the ticket right there to avoid a court
<1> damn, that would've ****ed
<13> fern mushi is taken
<10> well, unless you get hauled to court and fined for reckless endangerment instead. that could be really expensive
<11> 60% wonder if that means no more license in .dk, it used to be 100% but they lowered it to 70% or something in that area on normal roads outside cities recently
<1> wlfshmn: especially since if it goes to court it doesn't use standard tickets, but it is measured based on property and income
<10> K_F: You lost your license too, I ***ume?
<1> wlfshmn: yeah, 3-4 months probably (max 6)
<1> will know sometime next week
<1> well, lost/suspended
<10> K_F: same here, 31km or more over the limit on roads with limits of 70 or higher means lost license
<1> if I had 1) lost it within a probation period or 2) had a higher speed I would have to take it again
<10> K_F: well, suspended
<10> K_F: on-the-spot fines aren't based on income here, but court-fines are
<1> wlfshmn: exactly
<1> wlfshmn: ticket != fine
<9> speed limits--
<12> Oooh. Not only is it a mandatory court appearance for over 30mph, but you also cannot elect for traffic school.
<10> K_F: technically, no, it's a "fee" ;)
<1> wlfshmn: no, not speeding
<1> gebyr < forenklet forelegg < bot
<1> I got an FF
<10> ufhpc: this wasn't though, it was 46km/h == 28.5mph ;)
<10> ufhpc: you only go to court for speeding if they call it reckless endangerment or if you contest the fine
<9> the the states, it's all about going to court.
<10> K_F: well, do you as a student actually have that much income, or do they count stocks and whatnot in that as well?
<1> NineVolt: I'm much better off without it
<9> you pay more up front but generally get less points on your license, limiting the extent of your insurance premium increases.
<1> wlfshmn: property and dividende as well
<10> NineVolt: here it's all about not going to court. they have enough **** to deal with without pullingin every single damn motorist
<12> wlfshmn: This is for Florida specifically. Over 30mph and it is mandatory, by law.
<10> K_F: oh that would royally ****
<1> and I work pretty much full time at the funds management company in addition to my sole proprietaryship ..
<1> so I have above average income anyways
<9> ufhpc : that would never work here in nj.
<9> many roads have a flow of traffic that's roughly 25mph above the posted speed limit.
<9> d-side can back me up on that :P
<10> NineVolt: if you stick to traffic flow though, you ahve to be spectacularily unlocky to be the one nabbed ;)
<14> aaaah
<9> true.
<14> fries with shoarma this evening
<9> but then what's the point of having a law on the books that mandates that 30+mph == no license when everyone drives like that anyway :P
<9> it'd just give cops a way to **** with people.
<12> wlfshmn: Exactly. I know a bunch of state troopers here in florida who have told me that they aren't looking for those speeding, but instead for those that are recklessly speeding. If you are with the flow, there is no problem.
<9> that's how speeding works. i always go like 5mph faster than the flow of traffic.
