<3> siglite: brick walls cost a buggering fortune. By the time you've dug the founds deep enough to hold up a 6' wall, built it, with enough bracing to keep it up in a hurricane +50%. Though it is mostly the labour. And the responsibility. If a wall falls on someone, it's generally much nastier than a fence of equivalent height.
