<7> Dell has a $1700 box with 2x250GB, and a $2444 box with 4x250GB, but the $2444 box comes with some funky Windows install, and it's not clear if it'll install GNU/Linux cleanly, or if it's some sort of appliancy box with a custom BIOS or some **** like that.

<7> schitzo: There's a special web site. IBM and Apple has limited selection there, though. Dell gives more-or-less the full catalog, with usually a small discount, but occasionally a markup, compared to the special deals on Dell's web site.

<7> DaveHowe: I've heard of people doing that, but it's usually more h***le than it's worth. We have this SAP monstrosity, and if we order from our specialized web site, it works well. If we need to order from Dell's normal web site, or worse, get bids, it becomes a huge beaurocratic pain.
