<0> fixed it, it was a warning actually: I had "IN SOA domain.com" instead of "IN SOA ns.domain.com" which was not listed at parents' (which dnsreport states is legal)

<1> when setup with an online suse software repository it will do just as you asked; grab an rpm online. Ofcourse everything depends on the context in which this is all meant.

<13> Yeah, that's the thing though. I left all of my CD's for the OS in a box somewhere so I needed to grab one off the 'net and install it. The "install/remove software" goes by the CD's from everything I can see.
