<0> dogbert2: Personally, I think you're wasting your time, but good luck to you nonetheless.
<1> jgaddis, I have NOTHING to lose by filing...
<2> zsd
<0> dogbert2: Except that every city employee will now be on the lookout for you doing 2 mph over the limit.
<0> It's just like in a restaurant... you don't **** with the people that fix your food.
<1> jgaddis...I could get a restraining order against the cops if need be (I have several friends who are district judges here)
<0> Okay, like I said, best of luck to you.
<1> jgaddis, the two cops tried to apologize, what do you think I did to them? (heh)
<3> gave em a kiss ?
<1> gave them the finger and told them to better consult an attorney
<3> uhuh
<3> thats civil
<1> well, I cl***ify that as freedom of speech :)
<3> dont waste it
<1> didn't see any cops following me on my way home :)

<4> Looking for some programming help in Linux
<4> cant get my control to raise an event and cant find info on the subject
<4> Im using Gtk+
<4> more specifically Im using C#
<5> ah good. using an array of 4000 MAC addresses in byte format is only 24Kb in size.
<5> so it should not overload a web browser with my web interface
<5> Volure: #mono on freenode.net
<4> thanks
<5> sure
<0> cappicard: Why are you storing it client-side?
<3> 400?
<3> er 4000?
<5> well, I could store it into a temporary database table and extract them as needed.
<5> I'm just tired.
<5> 4000 MAC (each is 6 bytes in size)
<0> cappicard: Granted, I don't know exactly what you're doing, but I know we always try to store data server-side whenever possible. I recognize that you might not able to do that in your case, though.
<5> yeah, no direct way of accessing the database from JavaScript.
<1> m00000
<6> w00f!
<1> m0000
<5> actually I can store it server-side. Each session ID is a long. So, I can use a database table that uses the session ID as the key and then store the needed information for each MAC/ip combo. Then, I remove all references to that session when I'm done with the information.
<3> hehe
<3> i can play three blind mice but ill be damned if i can read the sheet music
<1> docfu...gah...I haven't read sheet music in years, but I can still play the piano (though I can read sheet music)
<3> dogbert2 well there is a big difference between reading and playing
<1> docfu...it is possible to play without being able to sight read...
<3> oh yeah
<3> i just wish i could sight read
<1> docfu, take a cl***, it isn't that hard (really)
<7> guitar?
<7> i really dig tabs
<8> I cant read music, but I can play the piano like its an art
<8> ...which it is, acutally
<3> no i meant i wish i could sight read and play
<3> which on a guitar i think would be really hard with all the combinations of strings
<3> on a piano one note is one key, but on a guitar there are many ways to play the same exact noet
<1> I can sight read and play, though usually most of the requests I get are for "Peanuts" :)
<3> charles schultz?
<1> docfu...the "Peanuts" theme
<3> dogbert2 guitar or piano?
<1> piano (I only play keyboard stuff)...learned to play in Junior High
<3> oh
<3> i think sight playing on a piano would be a fricking cakewalk
<1> I can also play duets as well as solo
<3> can:t be any harder than reading a piece of paper and typing on a keyboard
<3> a guitar is a whole nother story
<1> docfu, well, it can be a bitch to sight read on a piano (reading musical notes isn't that hard, but figuring out chords on a piano can be a biatch)
<1> geez, the fart I just ripped should have set the chair on fire
<8> haha
<8> I had one of those earlier...practically cleared out all of the mall I was in
<1> loud, hot, and smelly :)

<8> it was worse than my dogs
<1> dog farts are killer (IMO)

<11> run it in solaris if you want speed
<12> aha
<11> or the fedora version is compiled with gcj (?)
<12> cos i have debian
<12> so your bst advice me to recompile?
<11> dogbert2, http://www.johnath.com/beep/beep.c

<12> gnubee, what wont?
<12> it wont work?
<11> i wont do it
<11> never did it
<12> aha
<12> cos in our network from experiance we noticed that pppoe does not work if there is a wireless LAN
<12> we should use FreeRADIUS
<12> just to make authentication
<13> can anyone recommend a good distro for me to use?
<14> Debian
<13> and why would I want to use it?
<13> over other distro's
<11> because it's l337
<13> lol
<12> quantum4, i will tell u why
<13> ?
<13> :-)
<14> questForion: because it has a great package repository, try it out and see for yourself
<14> I personally prefer to run the unstable branch (sid)
<13> is it easy to use and install and configure?
<14> questForion: Other options are, suse, (k)ubuntu or fedora maybe gentoo
<13> yeah, I was thinking to trying SuSe, Fedora, and Ubuntu..
<13> but you think debian over those other 3?
<14> ofcourse
<13> k
<13> would you reccommend the internet install, or just getting all the disk images?
<14> the former
<13> all the disk images?
<13> k
<13> er..
<13> former before later...
<13> got me confused
