<0> English, humans! <1> oh ic <2> Gevaudan82: ic is lamer speak. <3> agreed <2> bah <4> hello.. could anyone point me for a good how to on setting virtual domains/emails in fedora 4 <5> grrrr.... why does this stupid thing keep autonegotiating at half-uplex now <5> duplex, even <6> what is auto-neg at HDX? <5> the internal network card on my P4 <6> what kind of NIC? <5> Intel EEPro, I would think <6> what's the other end plugged into? <5> a dinky 5 port Linksys
<6> the linksys is set at auto-neg (since it doesn't have a console port) <7> hey Tama <5> hey <6> what does the driver say on the windows side (device parameters)? <5> I had it set to force 100 Full <6> and it's doing HDX after that? <5> after it wakes from sleep, yeah <5> it keeps faling back <6> turn off the sleep crap inside of windows and set to auto-neg and see what happens...is it a 10/100/1000 nic? <0> hey Sean, db2 <5> no, just a 10/100 <5> it's never given me this trouble before... which leads me to think the switch could be dying :\ <6> try turning off wake on lan crap and reset <6> or try a different port on the switch? <5> could it have anything to do with the fact that the other item plugged into the switch acts as a network bridge? <6> that could be doing it, yeah...unplug that guy and see what happens? <5> (does bridging cause issues with autonego?) <6> the linksys doesn't have a dedicated uplink port (like some switches) <0> I might as well build it static, since it's the only thing to be using this copy of openssl, and liblzo <5> the linksys itself isn't doing the bridging, a WS2003 box is <5> connects my little island to the access point <6> hmmmmm...try disconnecting the WS2003 box (just as a test) <5> then I lose all outside connectivity <6> what kind of AP do you have? <5> errrr... dunno, it's in Julie's room... D_Link DI-524, I think <6> sounds like a unusual setup... <6> on my brother's setup, the dsl goes into a WRT54G (which has 4 switch ports for device connection)...so you can run as much cat 5 as you want to (or wireless) <5> yeah I'm not too happy with having lost DSL <6> are you on dial-up now? <5> I used to have 3MBit... now I'm sharing 128kbit :| <5> no, low-end cable <6> gah...bluggo <5> pretty much, yeah :| <6> the d-link MIGHT have some port params available thru the web interface (no promises, however) <5> I'm just confused as to how link partners affect autonego <5> I might be chasing a red herring <2> unplug it and check <6> well, a mis-matched device on a switch like that can cause all sorts of problems <5> this has only just started happening recently too... but we have had a few power outages... maybe something is foobar <8> hello, is there a way to save audio cd metadata into text files? <5> that's the 3rd time she's started up the vacuum... WTF were they doing in there <9> uhh so yea, finally installed fedora core 5, have an athlon 64 cpu, can't get the # yum upgrade command working. I get the error "Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: core"... help? :) <5> tried Googling? <9> working on it :| <8> hello, is there a way to save audio cd metadata into text files? <5> probably <10> With a bin/cue format...sure <5> there might not be tools written for it, but I bet there are ioctl()'s <5> yay, I got another doorslam... like I missed those -_-; <2> load up a audio cd and see where xmms or grip puts things <11> Very important to pirate those audio CD's accurately, huh? <5> stupid snooty bitch <11> <CHOMP> <11> What, no mushrooms? <11> <GLUG> <2> shrooms ?
<11> <MMMMMMMMM> <11> Feh... baked potato is fine, why ruin it by mashing? <11> HOT! HOT! <11> I don't drink. <6> hmmmm... <6> how about some good iced tea <2> never have iirc. <11> hm? <6> lets see...40oz Porterhouse, grilled mushrooms and onions, baked potatoes, and ice tea <12> hey nutjobs <5> oh hey look, ****nuts is back.... errr I meaan hi Jeremy <6> bwhahaha <13> you sure it's not ****nuts lite? <2> tender*** you mean <12> i think i'm gonna buy a bike tomorrow <12> i've been riding a buddies' all night <5> quick, how many fingers am I holding up? <13> 10-speed? <12> no, not a 10 speed <12> yamaha yzf600r or some such <12> http://www.jeremygaddis.com/images/yamaha.jpg <5> teh cheeksy <14> hi all <6> re-m00 <15> re <13> j0 0M <15> XyZzY <13> jgaddis: been looking at a Honda Shadow VLX myself <10> 20.1 inch laptop? WTF <10> What kind of damn regression is that? <10> 17.2 pounds <13> keeps your lap in place <10> It's called a desktop people <16> hey <16> 5.2 lbs bitches <16> anything heavier is a ****ing anchor <17> It probably microwaves your balls like my laptop too. <6> bwhahahaha <18> Hi. If anyone help, I'm compiling grub source to produce stage2_eltorito, which is the file used to boot the live cd. stage2_eltorito on livecd works fine, but when I complile this file from source it doesn't work and just stalls while attempting to boot. Any idea why? <14> cheeksy <11> Oh, goodie... just what the world doesn't need, another useless live CD. <19> off topic: I would like to share with you guys something that has inspired me so much http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqgTdVuGrAQ <20> shonuff: I suspect the problem is that whatever the last message that it prints on the screen is the secret key that will blow this case wide open <18> RelDrgn, except there is no error message. just the usual "stage2.........." message that appears indicating it's starting to boot, but then just stalls <20> shonuff: is the image burnt correctly? Does this thing make an ISO that you can compare md5 sums of the files from the CD? <11> RelDrgn: What he's not telling you is that he doesn't get the same binary when he builds $RANDOM_SOURCE himself. <20> well, that too. <20> also, since its gentoo, try building it without the ricer options. Maybe -O99 --foptimize-everything-away isn't such a good idea. <18> yes the iso image is fine, and it boots fine from vmware, just not when i make it try to boot from stage2_eltorito compiled from grub 0.97 source <11> Oh, he's a Gentoobie? I didn't catch that. <21> RelDrgn: but but but.... with -funroll-loops, I get much higher bogomips!!!!1111oneone <18> mwilson, it's a lot easier to just say "sorry I don't know" and leave the ego out of it. <18> and no I don't use gentoo. I use to, but I prefer arch linux instead. <20> ah, my bad :P <11> shonuff: Like a typical Gentoobie, you apparently think someone should automagically pull $RANDOM_ANSWER out of their *** and have it be correct. <14> but... but... it's much more fun to insult newbies! <11> shonuff: While you provide zero details. <18> mwilson, apparently you have a reading comprehension problem, this has nothing to do with gentoo linux nor do I even use that distribution <18> nor did I ever mention gentoo even once <20> shonuff: anyway, my guess is that this grub thing just doesn't work. use isolinux like everyone else <11> RelDrgn: But but but... there's *no way* Vector Linux could *possibly* have modified grub in any way whatsoever! It's not worth comparing theirs with the original *at all*!
