<0> wlfshmn: "startkeylogger" ? :)
<1> Tron: some version of silly protection systems would kill connections when it spotted that string
<2> hrm, wolfie, you bastard!
<2> didnt notice the kick
<2> 15:40 [msg(x)] op #linux
<2> 15:40 -X(cservice@undernet.org)- Sorry, you have insufficient access to perform that command
<1> tavi-san: suddenly the world just stopped for half an hour? ;)
<2> bah, you are so lucku :P
<3> Heh.
<1> muahaha
<2> oh, the spelling.. /lucku/lucky
<2> haha
<2> hrm, just remembered i still hate not being able to get you guys in #debian
<2> and the channel is just dead :|
<2> if i didnt have #ids registered on my username i couldve i guess...

<0> tavi-san: I remember at least a few kiddiots are/were ops on that channel.
<2> plus, i liked hellhound while it was there :)
<3> Anyway, Issue 7 is due out sometime this month, which will add more content to CoV and provide a whole lot of sweet buffs and QoL fixes to CoH.
<4> Mooh
<2> Tron: i know, courtesy of current owner
<2> Shadur: i will give it a try probably
<2> and see where it goes...
<2> m00 PW
<0> tavi-san: I'm not going to frequent a channel occupied by kiddiots. Even if it does purport to be a Debian channel.
<0> PolarWolf: Greets
<3> tavi: Cool. Most people I know and play with a lot are on the Virtue server, which is considered the unofficial RP server. :)
<2> Tron: yeah, i know, at first i managed to keep some out, but then the current manager ****ed up all the plans
<2> i did got some of here to join, and the puppy too
<2> then he decided to be an ***...
<0> tavi-san: I supported the vote to have the channel registered. I had an Op line there, then I realised exactly what the environment was like, and got out.
<2> Shadur: ok, im going to probably /msg you when i will get on it, now im trying to see if i can get a trial somehow
<2> Tron: i know, i remember
<3> Kayo.
<2> and all of you came cause i asked you too, and cause the manager said he was going to do it our way
<2> but after that he didnt, i still have the second access lvl in there after him, but i barely do something there tbh
<3> tavi: my global chat ID on CoX is @shadur, JSYK.
<2> ok, let me note this down
<1> tavi-san: #debian still around?
<2> Shadur: thanks for all the info, i appreciate it
<1> tavi-san: that channel was dead when I left.. didn't see any point in hanging out there as well
<2> wlfshmn: yeah, and it's populated, and they tried to do something with it, make a channel bot and stuff
<2> but except yoz, none of them actually answer debian related questions
<3> The global chat channel we hang out on is invite-only, but I can handle that once you're in the game. :)
<3> Did I mention the supergroup bases yet, btw? :)
<2> Shadur: nope, you havent ;)
<2> yoz: you around?
<1> Shadur: Those chatlog loko like there is some reasonable roleplaying atleast ;)
<5> tavi-san: yeap..
<2> yoz: should we try to talk to melfice to give the channel up?
<2> i will gladly give up #ids for it if he wants a channel so much
<2> especially that #debian is kinda dead
<3> That was added with CoV. If you have a supergroup, you can earn prestige, which can be used by the SG leader or another member with the permissions to build a base.
<5> tavi-san: well.. what's your intention?
<5> tavi-san: getting rid of kiddies and such?
<2> yoz: btw, i hated what happened there, we really had it going, HH was in there, and things started to get around, but then all the "experts" joined
<2> yoz: registering it actually
<5> tavi-san: I remember the time HH was in there.. that was exactly what we needed.
<6> anyone done VPN tunneling with ssh?
<5> tavi-san: hmm.. dunno if Mel will give it up that easy.
<2> i would support you to be the owner and get the majority of #linux in there, especially that the majority uses debian
<7> almost finished yay
<3> wolfie: Yeah, there is, if you've got a good bunch of folks to play with.
<2> Shadur: that sounds interesting tbh, i will definately give it a try
<5> tavi-san: if he does.. we'll have to get rid of 99 % of the channel anyway.
<3> Hang on, lemme dig up the origins RP thread for our villain group...
<2> i will go with the CoH first i think to see how it is, especially it's a bit cheaper ;)
<2> and i actually have my debit card with some money on it cause i wanted to buy eve online
<2> yoz: i dont mind that really
<3> http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=roleplaying&Number=3952009
<2> although i still have access in some channels like #security or stuff, i dont go in there anymore
<3> Mercy's Kiss and Foxtrot Juliet are two of my villain characters; the others are of my usual accomplices. :)
<2> Shadur: thanks, looking over it a bit
<2> Shadur: hah, <quote>Foxtrot Juliet, coming to the Rogue Isles Soon[tm], on a Virtue server near you</quote>
<2> ;)
<2> yoz: will you support me with this? i will begin the chat in the channel, and see what melfice has to say
<3> tavi: Yeah, there was a minor new lowbie content patch about to be released, and I wanted to wait with starting her until it went live. :)

<3> Tavi: Romeo's is my favorite, though.
<2> Shadur: any sites hosting character profiles?
<3> this moves us on to facts four through seven, which I would like to present more or less simultaneously: I haven't been wearing handcuffs for almost thirty seconds now, my mind has been honed into a weapon of astonishing power over the last ten to fifteen years, there is an intense but suprisingly stealthy arabic youth with sixteen inch claws implanted into his forearms standing behind you, and you are going to stand still.
<3> tavi: yeah, www.creyindustries.com
<2> and a link to your profiles?
<3> I only did two of them, and they're not much to look at. Lemme check if I remember them.
<2> Shadur: ok im checking to buy CoH right now
<2> i cant seem to find just the cdkey purchase though
<3> http://www.creyindustries.com/viewhero.php?id=9743 First character I ever came up with. Not the most original, but she kind of grew on me. Now semi-"retired", mainly because she's not supposed to be present in Paragon right now.
<3> Tavi: Lemme check, I've done this before....
<2> Shadur: nice "review" on her ;)
<3> Well, Crey Industries is basically the Big Evil Corporation. Kind of like Umbrella in resident evil.
<3> Ah, right.
<3> you need to go to www.plaync.com and create an account; from there you can purchase serial codes.
<2> Shadur: i wouldve showed you a char from wow, but their db seems down :)
<2> i was there, didnt find the serial code option just the cd-rom or the special dvd-rom box
<2> sec i will create an account now
<3> You can only purchase a serial code from within your account management.
<2> oh, ok
<3> http://www.pixelscapes.com/dfb/ <-- homepage of our original SG. We've got a second one as well by now, and we keep forgetting to get around to update the page, but there's a few more char profiles.
<3> http://www.creyindustries.com/viewhero.php?id=17188 <-- This char's player is a bit more conscientious about webpages and updates of her profile. :)
<5> tavi-san: sure thing.. I'll support you there.
<2> yoz: thanks dude ;)
<2> Shadur: so CoH USA right?
<5> it's ridiculous anyway..
<3> Yeah.
<2> NOTE: This is not the Collector's DVD Edition version available in stores. This version will not include the In-game Prestige Power, VIP badge or Cape.
<2> hrm what are those?
<3> The prestige power is essentially a version of the Sprint power with some added pretty.
<3> The cape they refer to is a specific type of cape that's only accessible if you have the collector's edition; all other cape types are available normally once you earn the right to wear one (special mission you can get at level 20)
<1> VIP Cape eh.. that would be an interesting club-gimmic ,)
<2> ah, so basically nothing serious
<2> just eye-candy
<3> Badges are pretty much just that - doing various things in the game can earn you a badge of some kind. There are a few hundred different ones - visiting locations, reading history plaques, defeating a number of enemies of one type or another, completing specific missions or task forces, etc.
<3> Right.
<3> You can set your 'badge title' to the name of any badge you've earned.
<3> For instance, if you've taken out 100 of the Council's vampire soldiers, you get the The Slayer badge.
<1> Shadur: What, no police badge to flash? ;)
<3> No, villains start shooting at you the moment they see you anyway. :)
<2> wlfshmn: you mean the "poo'leece?" :P
<2> yeah, that's like the wow collector's edition
<2> you could get a mini diablo pet in game
<2> and some map and posters
<3> tavi: Also, you might want to grab the cohupdater.exe from tenchi and get the actual game download started. It's up to over a gigabyte these days.
<1> the ddo collectors edition give you some real-world crap (a couple of plstic figures and a map, I think. probably a cd of the soundtrack too), and an extra ingame item
<2> Shadur: i got bw ;)
<2> you know i always have a campus connection standing by :)
<3> tavi-san: Still no reason not to start downloading early. :)
<2> Shadur: heh :)
<1> Shadur: ther eisn't a wget-able addy for the bulk?
<2> let me get the CoH serial then
<1> Shadur: 'tis what I did with Eve and DDO, just let the server play fetch while I finish up at work
<3> tavi: Also, I really, REALLY recommend you run through the tutorial the first time you play. You get the option to skip it, but it's a very nice and succinct way of walking you through the basic game mechanics.
<1> Shadur: Does the tutorial take less than six hours? ;)
<3> wolfie: It takes less than thirty minutes.
<1> Shadur: So the game is less complex than Eve then atleast ;)
<3> It's very uncomplex, yes, but a lot of that is thanks to a very, very nice interface.
<2> wlfshmn: haha, the eve interface messed you up too? ;)
<2> Shadur: the tutorial in EVE is freaking huge
<1> tavi-san: there is still a huge pile of stuff I don't know jack about in Eve ;)
<2> of course there is ;)
<2> hrm the serial code costs as much as it does in .ro
<2> and same price with the cd-rom or the dvd pack
<2> am i missing something?
<3> tavi: That's because it comes with that free month I mentioned.
<2> Shadur: heh, every mmo has a free month included i think *blink* :)
<2> then maybe i should get the collector's edition if no shipping charges are there :)
<3> Just be careful to doublecheck which version you're getting.
<2> yeah, i will probably leave that till tonight and maybe some more info on it "romanian" wise
<2> maybe my connection to the servers will be slow and that would definately ****
<3> tavi: I've seen people play it pretty well on a 56K modem.
<2> hrm, nice
<2> oh, just found a huge thread about it in the .ro computergames forum
<2> most of them say that CoH doesnt worth it, just go directly to CoV
