<0> night cheeksy. <0> Steakk: Well, considering the nature of AD, Its not going to be easy. <1> syn-ack, i hear ya there, but as I am progressing MY skills, and I can already get windows to auth against linux, fiugred id go the other way around...installing SBS2003 on my server (killing deb etch) <1> else I will just auth locally, and SMB from the linux workstation into the shares on the server <0> Steakk: You really need to contact Travis then. See if hes got any words of wisdom <1> syn-ack, I'll log into hydra, and flood his TTY :0 <0> Steakk: heh. I bet that'll get his attention. :p <2> always* <1> K_F, grab the telescope, and spy on the blonde neighbor across thew ay again? <0> mmm <0> I need to get me a printer for the truck <1> syn-ack, I want a portable printer so I can print invoices on the spot for clients <0> I need one to print out my logs. Im going to start keeping computerized logs. <1> syn-ack, are there USB powered printers? (Or perhaps, 12V DC current from the lighter ont he truck?) <3> umn. damn, cheeksy is gone..
<0> Hrm... time to find all the Speed limits for the states <1> syn-ack, each city is diff <1> some have 55 on the interstates, some are 60, 65, 70, and 75 <1> some have no limit <0> Steakk: Not that I know of, its ok though since I have inverters and such <1> I need to invest in anothe rinverter <1> I dont wanna burn 41 gigs of mp3s to DVD...would take forever, and too many DVDs...I wonder if I can mange to find 41 free gigs on my lappy...just xfer them over for a few hours, until SBS is up and running <4> how much power do I need in terms of watts for a server with a 1.0ghz athalon, a PCI ethernet card, a fullzize SCSI controller, 2 SCSI 50gb HDDS, 1 PCI SATA controller, 2 IDE HDDS and 1 SATA HDD, and a CD rom? my current PSU is not powerfull enough, I think it's either 200 or 400 watts <1> minimum of 550~600 <1> then you gotta think of the other things...what board is in there, what type of north/south bridge is eating up power? do you have other sensors on the board that take up more juice? (temp/volt sensrs)...then there is the video card, and soundcard, etc <1> your HDDs require more juice when spinning up than they do when they are already spinning, etc, blah <5> Wow, didnt even know about the netsplit <1> netsplit? <5> Yeah, mesa.az.us split... <1> hell, I didnt know that <1> heh <5> Seems that I was the only one who split out <1> oh ****, there it is <1> didnt even see that <4> Steakk: thank you, I think 600 should be fine. I have a fairly old AGP graphics card (it's either a nvidia gf 2 or ATI rage 2) the mobo is an abit kxt-333 or something like that. <4> I have 1 120mm fan in it as well <1> wait, all of that, and only 1 fan? <4> its in a building which is A/C 365 days/year <4> there is a fan on the PSU as well <1> You still need ample circulation of air <4> and the CPU <4> and the chipset <1> 1 80mm fan in the front, and 1 120mm in the back of the case would be more beneficial <4> the case is very open inside so it has a high airflow <5> HAHAHA <1> on that note, I am going to smoke a cigg <5> Im on the phone with Arbatron <4> I do think you're right though, those HDDs do produce a large amount of heat <1> bbiaf, smokey treat <4> the 2 SCSI drives are double sized, they take up 2 HDD spots <4> each <5> I still like this thought: Black History Month is the shortest month in the whole year. <5> What a ****in crock that is <6> nothing is ever going to make up for the treatment of blacks... so the whole idea that you can somehow make up for it with a "month" is a crock.. regardless of the number of days <6> i mean ****. we dont have a native american month, and we whiped those ****ers out and took their land. they're much worse off than black people these days <7> but *I* didn't treat them like that <7> why the **** am *I* supposed to feel guilty for it? <7> because I'm white? That's JUST as ****ing racist <0> safemode: Guess what; its not only the blacks who have been slave. EVERY race on the face of the earth have been slaves at one point in time or another, I dont see why blacks get any special recognition for it anyway <0> Do I feel bad for them being slaves, sure. Guilty? not at all <0> . <7> they're not slaves now <0> Exactly. <7> it was hundreds of years ago <6> we're all slaves to corporate america <7> get the **** over it! <7> am I supposed to hate British because of the potato famine? <6> the mini-ice age caused the potato famine <6> just like it caused the year with no summer in the US <7> no, the british caused the potato famine <0> smsie: No, you're supposed to hate the Brits for having the toad Prince. ;) <4> It's not exactly the slavery itself, its the years of hatred on both sides which stemmed from the slavery <6> smsie: they may have contributed, but during that time, nobody was growing **** <7> there *was* no famine in Ireland...there was plenty of food produced. The famine was in Britain, who took most of the food from ireland to alleviate it <4> Grudge holding <7> but it was over a century ago, so who gives a ****?
<8> not to mention the question how well "non-slaved" Africa is faring these days :/ <7> I don't feel I have to hate anyone for something their ancestors did to my ancestors <8> And what about the African tribes who sold their own brethren for good profit? <7> who cares? They're all dead <8> its despicable, on both sides IMVHO. But what smsie said... Who cares? <0> Lion-O: Well, as you, Im am doubly ****ed since Im part Dutch and Italian <0> ;) <8> syn-ack: so you like extra cheese on your pizza. Who cares? ;-) <0> hah <8> I WANT MY MTV :P o/~ Money for nothin' o/~ <7> ****y song :) <0> I like Brothers in Arms <7> hate Knopfler for writing that **** <8> smsie: yeah well.. if you're in the mood this stuff is nice <8> and live isn't so bad actually. <7> Brothers in arms is fine. MTV is a **** song <0> Thats a good Dire Striaghts. <8> Look at you jojo's :P <0> I like Live. Good **** there. <0> Throwing Copper was a damned good CD, IMNHO. <0> bbiab <9> I hate stacks of Cisco 2950s. <8> whyzzyrd: normal stacks or collapsing stacks? <9> Lion-O: gigastacks, and clustering <8> ach so <10> hello <8> whyzzyrd: yeah well.. <11> [21:54] --- Ping reply from Tomahock : 1170315686.83 second(s) <-- a ping from the future <11> I think X-Chat is fubar <9> to upgrade el ios, you have to do each switch individually <10> I have a little issue with iptables... I have my firewall up and running, when I test it it seems to be blocking everything just fine <9> raxx7: since when was that news? <10> yet when I try /etc/init.d/iptables status I get a 'Firewall is stopped' message <11> I had never seen such a ping <11> yes, I'm lame :( <8> MrTx: "man iptables" <9> raxx7: no, that xchat was fubar <8> MrTx: its not a process you start or stop. Also look into www.iptables.org <11> whyzzyrd: ah <10> thanks <12> hmm.. that seagate thingie really IS nice. I consider buying such device as soon as it's available in .eu <13> burp <8> Technojock: ye'r excused ;) <13> your to kind :) <8> naah ;) <8> I'll just bill you later :) <1> okay, via wireless and SMB, beginning to copy 41gigs of mp3s (8515 songs) from my server, to my lappy (backup purposes)...lets see how long this takes... <9> Steakk: go to bed now, get up in the morning. it'll still be going. <1> hehe <9> yoz: seagate thingy? <13> hehe <14> hi: I have installed debian on an IBM Thinkpad x22. It has an ATI Radeon mobility M6 video card and a 12.1 inch LCD monitor. The problem is: I cannot run more than 800x600 resolution. If I do 1024x748, I get overlap on my screen, for example the pulldown menus appear on both sides, and some even appear threefold <2> ati ****s <12> whyzzyrd: www.yoznet.at/seagate-dave <1> i hate ATI <1> w/a p***ion <14> I have a feeling this might have to do with the hsync and vsync, but I am not sure. I have tried different settings. The other thing is: it works perfectly with knoppix, so I know that both monitor and videoadapter are supported <15> actually the M6 is one supported by the OSS driver <2> Gathond: still ****s :p <15> well its more open than nvidia's driver:) <15> as long as one has that old a card <1> gnalb, so, boot w/knoppix, and check the x settings, and apply them to your deb install <9> nvidias driver b0rk for some of our flat panels <14> why does it work in knoppix and not in debian? I tried looking at the xconf files for both, but could not find out what/where <7> Gathond: but the nv drivers actually *work*, which is a BIG plus IMO <13> i was excused right? <9> even with the "stuff your DDC data up your arse" option, it refuses to display what it's told. <15> smsie: I've never had a problem with the ATI one and my M6 (the OSS ati one that is) <8> Technojock: you forgot to pay teh billz ;) <8> :) <16> Hello <8> </lame_excuse>
