<5> Ritalin: Hey, I decided to go with an M-Audio MobilePre USB. Mainly because I'll be able to hook up the phone recorder without needing a preamp. Got it for $90. That'll let me get a decent mic too. Plus since it was cheap, I won't feel bad if I upgrade quickly.

<0> falchion: how much is it? look at studio projects C1. erm... rode NT1A, oktava mk319. and there's one made by marshall... MXL something. basically any large diagphram mic is what you'd want to go with. the rode and studio projects mics are about $200. but yeah for what you need $38 is pretty good. the oktava can be had for about $75
