<2> None that aren't stupid.
<1> :S
<1> so what shud one do besides putting copyright notice and writing comments in dutch
<2> Nothing.
<1> :(
<3> furtive: are you ok? you have been at home for the whole day :D
<4> hehe, i'm on top of my wedding situation, and my work situation. and I finally reclaimed my desk at home, so slowly getting back into my comfort zone
<3> I got dragged out of my comfort zone today by my wife, cleanup and putting shelfs in the garage
<4> i just give the gf the ds and she doesn't say a word
<3> heheeh, that's easy
<4> yeah, when it stops working i'll buy a copy of nintendogs
<3> hahahahhahaaa
<3> until she ask you to walk the virtual dog

<4> i'll hit it with the frisbee
<3> i hope the dog is not smart enough to tell your gf ;)
<4> uh oh. someone moved into the block who enjoys playing really sappy powerpunk music loud with the windows open.
<3> you need those sound beam speaker , point it to his window and play country music
<2> You should get yourself one of those sonic cannons. :-P
<4> hey ht311: what can you tell me about wines from the Alsace region?
<3> I can only tell you what wikipedia said :)
<3> A wine-producing region, Alsace wines are primarily white. Its wines, which have a strong Germanic influence, are called vins d'Alsace. It produces some of the world's most noted dry rieslings and is the only rgion in France to produce mostly varietal wines, typically from grapes also used in Germany
<4> yeah, i know that much
<4> k
<4> we're going to probably spend our honeymoon there, I picked up a few reislings today from the saq and a pinot gris
<4> they also do pinot noir there
<3> ic
<4> thought you might be able to add some more ;-)
<3> I am kind of noob, i buy form a certain price range, usually, I bring my talking wine book if i need to do some major restocking
<4> talking wine book?
<4> how big is you cellar?
<3> hehe, my co worker who love wine
<4> ah
<3> cellar? not even close, just a small wine frige with about 40 bottle
<4> yeah, the cellar part was tongue in cheek ;-)
<4> that's still pretty good though.
<4> hmm.. 10 minutes away from sarah finding out tonight is her bachelorette night
<3> ohoh
<3> is it good or bad, she like suprise?
<4> she's scared ****less that it'll be one of those things where she has to wear a sign around her neck all night and beg for kisses from strangers. I've had no part in the planning other than to make sure it's tasteless and to make sure she's unaware that the ladies will come to get her in a few moments.
<4> ht311: when we're there we'll going to try to eat at Au Crocodile ... Michelin 3 stars ...woohoo!
<3> X(
<4> 127 euros each
<3> I have bbq currry chicken wings tonight
<4> brb
<4> it's time
<5> hi, im trying to create a javascript to expand and collapse menu items...so far i got them to toggle expanding and collapsing, but im trying to have it so only one item is expanded at a time....so if one is expanded and another is clicked, the other one will collapse...can someone please check out my code at http://rafb.net/paste/results/8jmism59.html and see if there's something simple i can add in to make this happen?
<4> loop through the other menu items and if they are expanded (check style.display or whatever) then close them
<1> how to get the scrollbar scrolled position?
<1> document.body.scrollLeft always giving 0
<1> document.documentElement.scrollLeft working.. why is tht ?:S
<3> how's the dinner?
<4> me?
<4> i just had half a club sandwich tonight, nothing special going on for me tonight
<4> also took a walk down to the jazz fest and caught a bit of a few shows.
<3> oh , i thought you went to Crocodile
<4> hah, it's in Strasbourg France, I won't go until mid August
<4> they have a 408 euro deal where you get the full course meals for two and wine throughout...
<4> check it out... menu disctinction: http://www.au-crocodile.com/E/index.html
<4> ah, frames. one sec
<4> hit "Gourmet Gifts" and then hit "Menu Distinction"
<4> although I think i'm better off taking the menu "coup de coeur"
<3> ;)
<4> but ****, 1/2 bottle of 1978 Chateau Rothschild
<4> that would be crazy
<4> the bachelorette party begins: http://weddingonthehill.com/
<3> I wonder if there is any special entertainment :D
<4> i don't think so.
<5> furtive..
<5> for the loop, how can i tell how many times to loop through
<3> hehe, or if you really want to know about that :P
<5> as in how can i check for how many items there are
<4> MAS84: by checking the iterator
<4> for (var i = 0; i < blah.length; i++) ... i is your iterator
<4> it will tell you at what increment you loop is at

<5> right but..
<5> the blah.length
<5> what's the blah...
<4> whatever you want to loop through... usually an array of some sort
<4> well, it could be an arbitrary number too
<4> ht311: out of 2000 restaurants michelin guide evaluates, only 21 are 3 star in all of france
<4> 3 of them are in the area i will be
<4> but one is on summer vacation when i'll be there
<5> well each of my items has an id to it... "tier1" "tier2" "tier3" etc... so im trying to figure out how i can have it check for all of the items...rather than me specifying i < 3
<5> i know what you mean, but based on how i have it set up, im not sure i can do that
<5> i mean, yeah, if i had the tier set up as an array, i would just do tier.length and then do a tier[i].style or whatever
<4> well, if they all had the same name you could do for (i = 0; i < document.formName.elementName.length; i++)
<5> but like i said, i just have it as div id="tier1" ... "tier2" etc..
<4> but id must be unique
<4> and you don't give names to div, so scrap that idea
<5> woops
<5> i mean ul id = "tier1"
<5> etc..
<4> have a separate function that gets the ids you need and loads them in an array, and then just feed that array to the function with the loop
<5> oh good call
<5> thanks
<4> np
<3> vacation .... when i can have one :D
<4> get a 2nd wife
<3> my wife already give that title to my computer(s)
<4> so take your computer on a honeymoon
<3> hahaha, i used take my tablet to mcdonald with them. now i take my ds there, may be you can call that honeymoon
<3> had too much wine, nite
<6> furtive
<4> yes
<6> i have a form
<6> and <input type="file"...>
<6> i need find just file type .jpg .bmp ......
<4> you can only filter that on the server side
<6> I do not understand well you can help me
<6> look
<4> nope. you can't script the file input element, so you have to do everything from the serverside (php, java, whatever)
<6> im try to validate the fild on onChange="extencion()"> ... for example in function search('.jpg')<
<4> i just said you can't script it
<4> stop wasting my time :-)
<6> thx
<4> there are lots of serverside tools to deal with what you want though
<6> great i`ll read about that
<6> thx furtive
<5> hey why is it that when i use window.onload = callAFunction; (without the parenthases -- and it has no arguments) it works fine, but if i do window.onload = callAFunction(); i get an error... if you say that's just the way it is, then fine but in a different function i had to call it using the parenthases in order for it to work
<4> if you put it with parenthesis it calls it right away, rather than onload. (because you're ***igning the results of calling the function to onload rather than ***igning the function to onload
<4> another syntax would be window.onload = function(){callAFunction();}
<5> interesting
<4> useful if you want to add more than one function to the onload
<4> want even more interesting?
<5> sure
<5> is there a way to secretly define the current page
<5> so that i can use js to check if it's that page
<4> you mean check location.href?
<4> javascript has no secrets
<5> what will that return?
<4> try and find out
<5> ok
<5> well that's the entire url...what im looking to do is somehow have something in my html page that javascript can check to see if it's that page before performing an action
<5> i was using the <form name="whatever"> </form> tags to check
<5> but that's not really a good way to do that
<5> var faqExists = eval(document.faq);
<5> n/m, think i got it
<5> thanks
<7> hey, what is worng here? http://pastebot.nd.edu/461
<8> if you have an anchor in your html, is there a way within JS to redirect to that anchor (i.e. take the user to that anchor) without reloading the page(because radio buttons and text would have been selected)
<8> so i can't lose the contents the user has inserted, but if they miss something, alert them of the problem, and take them back to the anchor
<9> location.href = "#anchorName";
<8> furtive that wont reload the page?
<4> nope. only reloads if you do location.href="foo.html#bah";
<8> ahh thats cool, thanks for that!
<4> np
<8> makes things easier, because ive got a page with like 20 questions on, with the submit at the bottom, its annoying for the user to keep scrolling up if they dont fill in the answers
