<0> rickety: I'm using the pircbot api as well. <1> Lion-O: you haven't done JMS stuff yet have you? <0> schitzo: not yet, no. <1> Lion-O: ok. it's my new project here... wheeeee <0> hmm :-) <0> schitzo: sounds very nice indeed. Hmm, isn't that going a little into the J2EE direction? <2> hm
<1> Lion-O: I don't know. just like playing buzzword bingo at times. <0> schitzo: *nod* <0> well, it seems to be available on my blade server. <2> how many blades do you have? <0> Rob_uknow: Have or own? ;-) I own a blade 100 myself, neatly running Solaris 10. And I have a few larger blades under my control. As in; firms who have setup a SLA with my firm to maintain 'm. <2> we use solaris at work <2> but want to get rid of it <0> Rob_uknow: I used to be a Linux nut when it came to servers, but that has been reduced to workstation use for me. Last year I migrated all of my servers to Solaris 10. <2> we are in the process of migrating from solaris to linux <2> new hardware <2> all x86 blade servers <0> Rob_uknow: Well, this isn't the place for it but when it comes to security I can't help wonder if its a good idea. <2> its only patient data <2> :) <2> there was a program on tv where they showed new google software <2> specialist could google for patient information <0> Rob_uknow: Well, without going into too much details I don't like where some things are going. For example the current issues in the 2.6.x kernel development. And yes; I saw that. Not entirely true though. <2> I only develop software <2> I don't care on what machine it runs <0> Rob_uknow: *nod* Java based or do you also use other languages? <2> java <2> some perl scripts <0> Rob_uknow: hmm, sounds good. As long as you like what you're doing. So far programming isn't a job for me, only hobby based and very slightly work related. <2> programming is only one part of the job <0> Rob_uknow: aah, combination? Thats cool, brings some diversity <2> oh yeah
<2> use cases, technical design etc <2> some project management <2> and giving technical advice <2> rickety <0> Rob_uknow: for me its mostly system/network management and end-user support (to some degree). <2> ok <0> teralaser: oh.. I almost forgot, in case you're interested... The other day I told you about how I used Booleans to control my thread but mixed up objects. Very simple mistake: for my thread I needed a Thread object (naturally) and a Runnable object, the latter instance also being used to control the.. well, running instance. At first I concentrated on the Thread object, hence my puzzleing about the ArrayList<Thread> (which I didn't use). <3> hey people <3> hwhat do you think about netbeans? <2> its an ide <2> it was crap <2> it has improved <0> ayups :) <3> yes i know it is a ide, i have been used, but the new version i dont like to build web aplication <4> I use it. <2> build how? <2> I use eclipse and I build my applications using ant buildscripts <4> because they made it work better with ant and other ides , jlen ? <3> look, i do my jsp, when i modify it ,, the ide does not modify it the servlet <3> its really sucs <3> ****s <0> I somewhat doubt that. <2> sounds like a configuration issue of your appserver <2> enable debugging <2> or do you mean the jsp is broken? <0> jlen: does your application server (is it supported?) give you any hints in its logfile(s) ? <3> tyes,, jakarta <3> i have no been the only one that hhas been had the same problem whit that ide <2> jakarta tomcat? <3> for that im coming here, to see if other people has that problem <3> yyes, jakarta tomcat <0> should indeed be supported. I only used the Sun application server myself so I cannot comment on this issue, but the few servlets I made have always been neatly deployed from Netbeans.
