<0> dunno
<0> tried google?
<1> Been all around it.
<1> I've ran myself in circles.
<2> can java interface with web cams at all?
<1> I've got my webserver running that stupid "happy.jar" file from Axis and it says it's there.
<2> if not how would i do that? i have made a buisness messenger out of boredom and now i wanna enable live chat
<0> CppIsWeird, it can

<0> you can use jmf, or some native solution
<0> or if your webcam provides a httpserver, then you can connect to that
<3> CppIsWeird: write a native component, don't bother with jmf.
<0> there you go
<0> jmf is evil
<0> Sanddman, http://javaboutique.internet.com/tutorials/Axis2/
<3> CppIsWeird: http://www.google.com/search?q=java+webcam+jmf&btnG=Search&complete=1&hl=en&lr=
<1> Should I use Axis2 over Axis??
<0> well I would think axis2 is newer
<1> That's a new site I hadn't ran into yet.
<1> I'm headin' out right now;) Quittin' time
<4> if you want just straight SOAP stuff then Axis2. Some ws-fx projects don't workn in Axis2 yet I don't think.
<1> I'll worry about it s'more tomorrow hehe
<1> All I'm using it for is SOAP and possibly REST
<4> I know they are working on porting alot of the ws-fx stuff to straight Axis2 modules instead of needing seperate projects
<1> Well, I've got my webserver recognizing Axis.
<1> But my java won't recognize org.apache.axis.*
<0> java?
<0> you mean netbeans?
<0> you need to add the jar to the project's cl***path
<1> BTW, I'm on a Win 2000 machine.
<5> why would you use axis if you're using netbeans?
<5> Why wouldn't you just use JAX-WS
<1> JAX-WS doesn't support the types that AWS uses.
<5> uhhhhh
<5> which type would that be
<1> Not quite sure, there's about 100 errors that it throws at me.
<5> chances are you're doing something badly wrong then
<1> And when you use the Create Webservice Client from within the IDE, all the files it creates reference to axis.
<1> BTW, I'm extremely new to Java.
<1> ;)

<0> what to use for document based webservices?
<1> If you haven't already noticed;)
<0> jaxm seems dead
<5> Rob_uknow: jax-ws can handle documents as well
<1> Have any of you worked with the Amazon SOAP?
<1> Guys, I've gotta jet. If any of you care to help, send any info you find to matt.findley@gmail.com
<1> Thanks for all your help. I'll return, and maybe someday I'll be doin' the helpin';)
<6> has anyone configured the Java hotspot to skip compiling a function?
<0> skip?
<6> exclude
<3> korbin: one in particular?
<6> yes i want to exclude this one oracle driver function
<6> was wondering if anyone else had issues with possible hotspot bugs
<6> oracle.sql.LnxLibThing.lnxfpr in particular
<6> LnxLibThin
<6> i found an obscure newsgroup post about an unexplained thread hang in an oracle driver function
<6> they excluded the function from being compiled and that seems to have fixed it
<3> this is getting more depth by the minute.
<3> perhaps we should wait until we have all the juicy details.
<6> it turns out that the newsgroup post originated from a building across the street from the texas school house depository
<3> korbin: have you tried the exclusion?
<6> yes we've asked the customer to do this
<6> but the problem occurs once every few weeks
<3> look at the bright side: at least you still have customers who don't mind your interesting way of communicating. :)
<6> yeah i try to give them bad news at a trickle ^_^
<2> ok so how would i make java output a stream that could be opened up in like a web page? reason i ask is because i really dont know where to start
<2> how do i grabt he images and then encode them in a stream? would i need an external encoder? or something like that?
<3> CppIsWeird: why a stream in the first place.
<2> because i also want the streams to be available in a web page
<2> and live chat is a stream right?
<3> you present a solution while not describing the problem to us. the advice could be more accurate if you would start from the beginning.
<2> ok, sorry.
<2> I want to include in my already built instant messanger server the ability to handle cam streams. I want the messanger to have the ability to capture the web cam and send the stream to my server. From this i want my server to have the ability to either stream the stream to a web site or another messanger.
<2> what is the best way to go about accomplishing this?
