<4> Well, I have a button displayed and attach a listener to catch a popup request on it (isPopupTrigger() event). I dynamically make a JPopuMenu with the commands. While it is poped up, the underlying button gets some redraw (background color change, etc). That 'eats' into the popup menu rectangle. Did not know if there was a wat to mask out the popup
