<1> hmmm.. i really broke something... ~/.xsession doesn't work anymore, with startx, or xdm or anything.... ~/.xinitrc works with startx, i KINDA think, that xdm IS calling ~/.xsession , but something is going wrong... my xsession-error logs are all empty and not filling up... now i've got an xinitrc and startx and i'm at least here... also it seems no matter WHAT i put in rc.conf the session manager doesn't change and since it won't

<1> tyvek, months before this happened... had regular modular bit-updates and various other stuff and restarted/booted a few times over those months and its been fine... just did a little emerge world the other night and it all went to hell... from memory there was a new gkrellm and a new xfce.... thos i'm pretty sure the problems are more or less unrelated
