<0> \malex\, my ear drum ruptured when I was about 9 months old... it's a fairly common thing to happen, but usually the hole will repair itself.
<0> Instead of it repairing itself, my entire inner ear turned to solid bone. When I was about 13, I had surgery to chisel all that bone out b/c it was threatening to grow over the main nerve on the right side of my face.

<0> So, at this point, I don't think there's any hope of restoring any hearing in that ear... which is fine. If I could all of a sudden hear, I think I'd be really screwed up for a while.
<0> no... I'm so used to hearing this way that when someone tries to make one side of a headset louder, I feel very off balance. Even tho I can't hear out of my right ear, my left ear can pick up enough to know that's "off"
<1> no, not make it louder, but have the sounds from the right side go to the left ear aswell, so you hear from all directions
