<0> good point
<0> oh
<1> :))
<0> I did Accelerated C++ but I didn't know what you just told me
<2> I find that difficult to believe
<0> that I read all of Acc C++
<0> ?
<2> that you "did" it all
<2> i.e. all the exercises
<0> I read throguh all the execises but I didn't do them all, becuase I knew how to do them before I started
<0> I could have done all of the execrcises
<0> easy
<2> I find that VERY difficult to believe, because _I_ couldn't do them easily, and I've been programm a helluva lot longer than you
<0> ok
<0> well I just learned something new
<0> brb

<2> it's pumpkin, and I'm still recovering from the flu
<0> oh
<0> sorry to hear that
<0> well thanks for helping me
<0> I guess I better go back and read acc cpp again
<0> unresolved external symbol "public: virtual struct CRuntimeCl*** * __thiscall CCl***::GetRuntimeCl***(void)const " (?GetRuntimeCl***@CCl***@@UBEPAUCRuntimeCl***@@XZ)
<0> ok got that fixed
<3> hi, i got a question on the k-means clustering algo.. when applied to points on the unit sphere.
<3> is it possible to use space partitioning to speed up the process if the coordinate system wraps around near the longitudal boundaries?
<4> Jack Bauer would have gotten the ring to Mordor in 24 hours.
<4> Sorry, dextre, I don't know.
<5> Jack Bauer has a heck of a lot of bad days
<5> lol
<3> in fact more generally, is it possible to apply space partitioning in spaces that wrap around itself?
<6> moving = the **** ;)
<7> How do you bind a database to your controls in MSVC 2005
<8> hi
<8> does anybody have experience w/ source control software like CVS or subversion ?
<8> plz msg me
<6> m_29_usa why don't you just ask?
<6> and what does it have to do with C++ ?
<7> I asked and go blank in response
<9> nevecd: this is not exactly a database to windows control binding channel. So you might be out of luck here.
<8> what channel can I go to to talk about version control ?
<4> Well
<4> This one :/
<7> what channel would I discuss MFC/VC++ way to connect to a Database?
<7> it is on the c++ side I am having issues
<4> You can ask here
<4> Might not get an answer
<4> But, you might
<9> #subversion or #svn on freenode, maybe, m_29_usa
<10> Hey do any of you know where I can go to get some "***ignments". I am learning C++ but I want experience doing stuff, and I can't think of anything off the top of my head. :P
<10> Simply reading the tutorials and nodding my head isn't going to get me anywhere.
<11> get a book with excercises
<11> and actually make them
<8> In source control, isn't the whole point to lock certain files when they are checked out? Or is that too restrictive? ie, let people check out files at the same time, but as long as your provide a way to track the history of changes and selectively merge the changes, then everything is groovy. So my question is, does subversion work the former or the latter way? If the later, then what happens when people modify the same line at the same time.
<4> I recall that the one time I used such a thing, it would prompt when it noticed a file that had two sets of changes, and it would open an editing window where you'd see the code in both next to each other, with highlighted lines where there were changes.
<4> So you could synchronize them manually and save the result.
<4> But I think that was sourcesafe, so I don't know how prevalent such a mechanism is.
<8> thnx
<8> http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch02.html
<8> i'm reading this introduction to subversion.
<4> I wonder how it does the update
<11> hm
<11> I wonder how FIX looks like
<11> I am currently reading a bit about it
<12> 'lo m
<9> hey gee0
<12> yay (+:
<12> up late?
<9> It's noon here.
<11> o.O
<12> um. where're you???
<9> Old Europe.
<12> Germany, or Turkey?
<12> i need a memory upgrade ...
<11> turkey isnt part of europe
<9> Germany.

<9> Tamama: most of Turkey is part of Europe.
<12> Tamama: Turkey straddles Europe, and Asia
<11> they still arent europe though :P
<12> they're part of the EU, i think
<11> completely different culture
<11> and no they are not part of EU
<12> or expected to be, as i remember
<11> yeah i am sure that will take more than 20+ years
<11> if it ever happens
<12> is it proper to define a program as a definite sequence of steps to obtain a desired result?
<9> Culturewise, Turkey is probably closer to Europe than to Asia.
<11> closer to the middle east
<9> gee0: hmm, I have problems with "definite" in that line.
<12> m: sorry, should have said defined sequence. poor english
<9> gee0: a program 1. has to deal with different input and 2. can be indeterminate.
<12> _m_, but given an input, the processing applied to the input occurs in a defined sequence.
<9> For most programs, yes.
<12> to a layman
<12> ***uming there are no unexpecteds, and there is no concurrency; is the definition fit to p***?
<9> There are programs that behave indeterminate, e.g. programs using a Monte Carlo algorithm.
<9> (I've never written or seens any in real life, but those programs do exist)
<9> Of course, you could consider the random generator the input of such a program. Then your definition would also apply to them.
<12> not sure i remember what that is.. soemthing to do with more variables than information, right?
<9> Well, something involving a generating a lot of random numbers.
<12> to what end?
<9> To produce some statistical result.
<13> how do i get the default printer name on winnt4? on win9x it's done by enumerating the installed printers but on winnt that attribute it's not used anymore. on win2k and above work GetDefaultPrinter api but on winnt4 doesn't work neighter of those two methods. how do i get the default printer on winnt4 by other means?
<12> i get it, i think.
<9> E.g. a program could simulate a system's reponse to certain triggers. The random generator would be used to create a random sequence of triggers.
<9> Something like that is used e.g. for validating a design.
<12> ofcourse. yep. i did that once
<12> to validate a module's input handler
<6> meh
<12> meh?
<6> yes, meh
<12> O.o
<12> i'll get me some shut-eye, i think
<12> look after yourselves, all
<14> hello !
<14> how are yoi
<14> you
<14> do you program games ?
<15> some do some don't
<14> and y ?
<15> I don't - rdragon does
<14> can he help me ?
<6> just ask
<6> time's up
<14> hello rdragon
<14> can you show me how to program some small games
<6> no
<6> do research - google is a good friend
<14> :D
<14> thnx
<16> http://pastebin.com/655330
<16> anyone to chcek this out ?
<16> i have a problem on cout <<
<16> http://pastebin.com/330
<16> plz someone take a look..
<11> would help if you added an errror message describing the problem
<9> The problem is operator precedence.
<11> most likely (<< ? : )
<11> but even so
<11> right now it is: here is my code.. do somethign with it
<9> std::cout << (o.Getplatos() == o.Getypsos() ? "tetrahwno" : "orthogonio") << std::endl
<6> i erased it, does that help?
<16> Tamama
<16> i'll try
<16> _m_
<16> i'll try now
<16> Tama the << ?
