<0> hi all
<0> i just apt-get install horde3 and is installed in /usr/share/horde3/ how will i make horde3 to appear www.localhost.com/horde3 ? or www.horde3.localhost.com ? please help
<1> didn't it provide an apache module configuration file?
<1> you really run localhost.com? i'm surprised.
<0> was example :)
<1> no, that would be example.com.
<0> well it should
<0> what do you want me to look for ?
<0> nothing just horde itself
<1> i told you what to look for.
<0> anyt ideea what should i do ?
<1> an apache module configuration file.
<0> hmm where would that be :(
<0> in /usr/share/horde3/ are just config file for horde . nothing to do with apache
<1> i have no idea where it would be, you are the one with the debian-ish system.
<0> yes
<1> so, where does debian put those sorts of things?
<0> can you be more specific with an apache module configuration file ?
<1> some piece of text file that would alter apache's configuration so that horde would be enabled.
<1> the text file would be something that an include from the main file would cause to become active.
<0> i see
<5> oh
<6> Greetings. Can I p*** parameters to <--!exec cgi'd scripts? If so, how? I can't find any documentation or samples
<7> depends how they're supposed to have those parameters p***ed
<7> you can do exec cmd="command -opt1 -opt2 -etc"
<6> Any way is fine by me.
<6> not cmd
<6> cgi

<6> <!--exec cgi="/cgi-bin/somescript.cgi"-->
<6> cmd= is disabled on the server
<7> does that make apache construct a new request for the said cgi script?
<7> don't really know much about ssi
<6> P***ing POST is probably not possible, but p***ing GET should be.
<7> yea, that's what i was thinking
<6> I don't know. I ***ume it dies.
<7> well exec cgi="/cgi-bin/foo.cgi?arg=val&x=y"
<7> worth a try
<6> anyway, <!--exec cgi="/cgi-bin/somescript.cgi?param=value"--> gives an error like "invalid CGI ref"
<6> 1) try logical version, 2) read documentation, 3) google, 4) ask someone on IRC :)
<7> i'm at 2) and the apache documentation says:
<7> The include virtual element should be used in preference to exec cgi. In particular, if you need to p*** additional arguments to a CGI program, using the query string, this cannot be done with exec cgi, but can be done with include virtual, as shown here:
<7> <!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/example.cgi?argument=value" -->
<6> ... doh
<6> sorry, should have cought that
<6> thanks
<7> no worries :)

<10> hi! I'm running apache behind an asus router. So http://localhost:8000 works (I have port 8000 set up), but http://www.mydomainname.com:8000 and http://myip:8000 doesn't... Behind the router I have always the same IP (192.168.1.9) and I've set up all kinds of settings on the router that should allow TCP traffic to my ip on the 8000 port, but it still doesn't work. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?
<1> find all listen directives.
<1> ask on more networks.
<10> hmmm, I have no listen directives (never had them, but things used to work before I had this router), I only have "port 8000"
<10> should I have a listen directive? And how is it different from port?
<1> so you have apache 1.3?
<10> yes
<1> if you use the netstat program does it show port 8000 in listen state? what ip address, or is it any-address?
<10> no port 8000. Should there be? I can still connect to http://localhost:8000/. Or should I put some options to the netstat?
<10> TCP rok:8000 rok:0 LISTENING
<10> (with netstat -a)
<1> i wouldn't expect to see rok:, i expect to see *:
<1> do you have a bindaddress directive? if so remove it / comment it out.
<10> BindAddress directive is already commented out
<1> then rok: is odd to see, i expect the any-address indicator, i.e., *:80
<10> what does that mean and what to do now?
<1> it means your apache is listening on a particular address. if that matters and how to fix it i cannot say.
<10> hmmmm
<1> does your router forward port 80 to that address?
<10> my router has a web server for configuration on port 80
<1> sorry, i mean port 8000.
<10> yeah, I guess, I have under Virtual Server List set port 8000 to my local IP, I have port trigger for port 8000 set up, I have internet firewall disabled
<1> i have no idea what that means.
<1> but i would guess that it isn't working well enough.
