I have root access and I get a 401 for a server.php file. But I get 200 for an index2.php inside the same directory. I've searched for "server.php" inside httpd.conf, but found nothing... I don't know why I'm getting this error. How can I find out? Apache log says: <5> [Mon Apr 17 18:04:45 2006] [error] [client 193.77.56.45] (13)Permission denied: access to /rpc/server.php denied <5> Both index2.php and server.php have global read permissions. And are owned by the same user and group. <6> hum <6> ls -al shows same permissions? <5> yes <7> duality_: does the parent directories have read access too? <6> arnt they both in the same dir? <5> yes, of course <5> yes, they are <6> never say 'of course' <5> well, I thought that if the parent directories didn't have read access, than index2.php would not be shown too <7> and there's nothing in your config wich could disallow access? <6> do you have a url i can try? <6> and 401 is auth isnt it? <7> Azer: uhhu <6> permissions dont create a 401 <6> brb smoke <6> and howdy valk :! <7> hya dude :) <5> http://212.93.227.82/rpc/server.php <5> http://212.93.227.82/rpc/index2.php <5> one is accessible, the other isn't <6> .head http://212.93.227.82/rpc/server.php <8> 403 Forbidden <8> Server: Apache <6> not 401.. <5> ups, sorry... did I say 401? Oh, yeah, I did, sorry about that <7> duality_: already pasted a ls -al of the directory?
<5> -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42 Apr 17 18:05 index2.php <5> -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 403 Apr 17 18:08 server.php <7> hum hum <7> can you publish your config? <5> what part of the config? <7> all? :) <5> http://pastebin.com/665263 <7> don't got a .htaccess? <5> in the /rpc directory? no <5> oh, wait... <5> no, I don't <7> duality_: using selinux or something? <5> yes, selinux <7> hum :) <7> turn it off? <7> and then try again? <5> turn what off? the computer? I'm remotely connected to the computer :) <7> no <7> selinux <7> or put it on permissive <5> don't know how to do that :/... well, I guess I'll have to wait for my linux administrator to fix things <7> let me check <7> setenforce permissive <5> I have to put this into the command line? <5> and have root access? <7> yes && tes <7> yes <6> ahh selinux <6> wonder if he renamed that file if it would load <6> http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-apache-fc3/ <5> I'm not gonna do "setenforce permissive", although I have root access, I'll rather wait for my linux administrator... thanks for the help though <7> 5well <7> then check you /var/log/messages <7> if selinux is blocking the permission <7> it would probaly show there <6> http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=14882&group_id=21266 <6> that is also a good read for selinux <8> That URL would be better as http://w.ick.ca/5315 <6> valk: good call on the selinux <7> ofcourse :P <6> hah
