<1> [14|19:22:06] < alext> poor xname :(
<1> [14|19:22:14] < alext> 'Yep, I confirm you we're under heavy attack since 5PM CEST'
<1> at least they were 2.5h ago
<2> eeesh
<2> that explains some things
<1> :)

<2> thanks :)
<2> where'd you get the sweet intel?
<1> I'm omniscient/-present!
<2> that's pretty hardcore
<1> also, #powerdns on ircnet
<2> vim news8.php
<2> shoot. sorry, wrong window
<3> :)
<3> you actually type 'vim'?
<2> what should i do instead?
<3> I generally symlink vi to vim :)
<2> but then how do you use vi?
<3> I don't
<1> heh, you actually mutilate your filesystem?
<1> I generally use aliases for that
<1> :>
<2> start making quotes come out
<2> .quote
<0> <ryan1> the condo place where i moved has an online forum <cygnus> do they have a "casual encounters" section on there?
<2> hot!
<2> .quote
<0> ]Gnome[/#telerama rices out his printer "I dropped a gl***pack into her... 65 sheets per minute easy now!"
<2> outstanding.
<3> rm /usr/bin/vi; ln -s /usr/bin/vim /usr/bin/vi
<2> i just do this: chmod 000 chmod
<3> lol
<3> really, though, what's the use of vi?
<3> bah
<3> tomcat uses a lot of ram
<1> bryan rocks.
<1> BarkerJr: why don't you just uninstall vi then?

<3> you can do that?
<3> I thought it was part of the colonel
<1> of the what? :p
<3> :)
<3> kernel?
<1> I figured that, but I kinda hope you didn't mean that :p
<3> they sound kinda the same
<3> one is a prestigious post, and the other is something you throw out after having popcorn
<1> possibly
<1> but it doesn't mean an editor is included in the kernel :P
<1> luckily :p
<3> :)
<3> you use skype?
<1> nope
<3> bah
<3> is pwd part of the kernel?
<4> BarkerJr why are doing that to vi ?
<4> If you want to change your default editor, chp***
<3> that'll make it so when I type 'vi' I get 'vim'?
<4> lol
<4> I would type 'vim' to get 'vim' and vi to get vi, however change your bash or csh or whatever script you use to make vi acually run vim... god knows why you would do that. What I meant is that any file you open in a default edit mode would open in whatever you set in chp***.
<4> like chp*** for example.
<4> [13:11] <3> really, though, what's the use of vi? -- It is one of the most powerful text editors out there. Many people love it.
<3> better than vim?
<4> many people use vi over any other editor.
<3> weirdos
<5> vi is just lame compared to vim
<3> I like the use of my arrow keys
<3> ijkl just ain't intuitive
<5> lkjh
<3> oops
<4> Its not about being intuitive. Its about caring about every whitespace and if a guy took time to learn it... it works well.
<3> see? haven't used vi in ages
<4> Also speed. Someone who knows how to use it can edit things fast.
