<0> fill out some random info in the boxes
<0> and press submit
<0> then tell me if you see a green box above the form you just filled out
<0> if not, try scrolling down/minimizing/maximizing
<1> majd i'm win xp
<2> I see it, yeah.
<0> ok
<2> In FF.
<0> so i'm done
<0> oh yeah
<0> i need IE
<0> heh
<1> lol
<1> I'll open ie
<0> thanks
<2> IE... that's interesting.

<1> majd you seem pretty close
<1> haven't seen 'citeit.net'
<0> yeah
<1> before
<2> The green box is there, right inside the top of the form area.
<0> ikebowen, you see it?
<0> cool
<0> krisp, what do you mean?
<0> www.citeit.net
<2> But it's not... right.
<0> the dns forwarding is kinda iffy
<1> big green box at the top
<0> ikebowen, what's wrong?
<2> Well... Hang on.
<2> Right, it's there at the top of the document, but breaks when I scroll.
<1> majd haven't een the designw ith that the URL on before :P
<0> heh
<0> you like the logo?
<1> yuh huh
<0> i need to fix the paper clip though
<0> doesn't look real
<0> i might just make it a staple
<1> majd looks like people might be able to spam through it
<0> krisp, what do you mean?
<1> 'Email List' ?
<0> lol
<1> :)
<0> but...you can write the message
<0> it's formatted from the citations
<0> i suppose you can make your message from the citations
<0> but....damn
<0> why would you do that?
<1> just thinking you might be exploited to send out hundreds of emails to different people...
<1> thousands, millions
<0> captcha?
<1> just to spam...
<1> majd nah - they're inaccessible
<0> how could i fix it?
<2> [ cackles ] /I/ think I'll spam leaders in government with this nifty MLA Citation tool! Hahaha!
<2> majd: I wouldn't worry about it.
<1> maybe try parsing a variable from the pagensubmitting the data to page that does the emailing
<0> my site is already wide open for attacks
<2> :)
<1> majd then i suggest that you protect it...
<0> i still have to secure a few really obvious ones
<0> such ***s....
<0> *as
<0> http://jtaby.com:81/mla/magazine.php?sec=../
<2> Oops, Smarty broke.
<1> majd one c9ould still exploit your email script...
<1> and that can get you blown...
<0> krisp, yeah i'm thinking about that right now
<0> i'll see what other sites make you do
<0> if anything on the front end
<1> majd
<1> nout
<1> it's just about making sure that the request COMES from your site..
<1> i.e. add a random variable, crectead every hour on your site..
<0> "krispmaybe try parsing a variable from the pagensubmitting the data to page that does the emailing"
<1> then make sure that you need THAT pased to the page doing the sending...
<0> hmmm

<1> majd mabe the date, and hour multiplied by the day of the month in base 32?
<1> :P ?
<2> or a "type the characters in this image" thing.
<2> That'd be easier, and might accomplish the purpose better.
<1> ikebowen they're inaccessible...
<0> ikebowen, that's a captcha
<2> .... I'm a bit lost, sorry.
<0> krisp, i'm thinking whether that would be a problem with my site's audience
<1> majd got an idea, pm?
<0> sure
<1> majd as long as there are bastards like me around....
<2> Is there a decent web-based code studio out there?
<2> like... dreamweaver for apache/php?
<3> ummm
<3> I doubt anyone has wasted the time to make one
<2> :)
<3> at least one as comprehensive (not saying dreamweaver is good) as dreamweaver
<2> Not free, anyway. There are a few open-source initiatives out there, but none that are worth much.
<0> ikebowen, actually
<0> ummm
<0> **** i think i know one
<0> but i can't remember the name
<0> it was on digg
<0> had a p
<2> [ grins ]
<2> in php?
<0> well it's for javascript/html
<0> but i'm sure you can do php
<2> but is it written in php?
<0> http://www.wxedit.com/
<0> maybe
<0> k, igtg
<0> later
<4> I found a free host that does not allow ads, would buttons like these be concidered ads?
<4> http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/buttons.html
<3> ads are things you make money off
<3> (of)
<3> firefox buttons are just propaganda unless you use the Google ones that _do_ generate money
<5> deformative: They are adverts. Since they don't make you any profit, the host is likely to let them though. Best to check with the host though.
<4> Alright, thankyou.
<4> Before I make an account, has anyone heard bad things about 1500mb.com?
<3> do a search, lots of sites keep track of such info
<6> <4> free host <-- beyond that, no
<6> tho I guess that goes both way
<6> *ways
<4> Well, I do not intend to use a free host forever.
<7> you get what you pay for
<4> Just untill I get my own server set up.
<8> :)
<9> my wiki told me to slow down.. ...
<8> that's nice :)
<10> clearly you were posting pagerank spam :P
<9> yea, it locked me out for a bit, and then it said if i continued, it would lock me out for an even longer period of time...
<10> I notice one guy who does that, feels guilty about it, and starts the URL lists with "I'm sorry"
<11> anyone here know grub fairly well?
<11> i'm trying to do some funky raid stuff
<1> hax
<1> pm a sec?
<11> krisp: yeah, but it better be to fix my raid issue
<11> heh
<12> haha
<13> hey guys, I just used imagemagick via the command line "convert" ... to convert a couple thousand pdfs to jpgs. The problem is, they will not display on the web in a browser, it says they contain errors and will not display. Does anyone know of options/etc that I need to use with convert that will make the images viewable on the web?
<8> :)
<3> Sembiance: ag
<3> Sembiance: ed
<11> ZOMG BIG REBOOT TIME
<11> WISH ME LUCK
<11> ****.
<14> hax: can't find the off swotch?
<11> no
<11> its a remote box
<11> and its not coming back up
<11> heh
<15> Remote rebooting always makes me nervous.
