<16> _jason: did it work?!!
<22> !tell useruser about livecd
<23> gnomefreak, do you have the kde libs installed?
<6> guest: yes, good job. Whenever you see that ``couldn't stat'' stuff it means you should run 'sudo apt-get update' (if it still happens after that then it probably can't reach the server). So go ahead and run 'sudo apt-get update' now
<21> bimberi: thanks, i'll check out that url

<7> CrocoJet: 1.6 adn 2.0 neither have been released they are both alpha
<24> oh ok, thanks
<25> Morning everybody
<24> gnomefreak, do you have idea how to setup GDM resolution ?
<1> its 10:47pm...
<19> who of u was compiling the firefox2alpha ?
<20> Croco: gdm doesnt set up the resolution, the Xserver does
<25> chris, its 7:46 where I am

<1> you probably arn't in australia then...
<25> am
<7> ubotu tell CrocoJet about fixres

<16> _jason: Sir. None...
<24> thanks ..
<20> Croco: set your default resoluiotn for X to be the one you want for GDM, then change the resolution for your user login via the System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution
<22> useruser: no? i haven't actually read it myself. I did look at the howto's on remastering knoppix once though and that looked like heavy going
<1> can wine play windows games faster then windows can? (ie - hl2, oblivion)
<20> anyone know how to debug udev?
<6> guest: great. Now that thing you pasted tells me that the package called gksu somehow is not installed. I don't know how that happened, but you can install it again. You could use synaptic, but we are just going to use the command line. The command 'sudo aptitude install gksu' should install it
<7> is mplayer-386 the gui version of mplayer?
<6> gnomefreak: one of them
<7> ok
<26> hi there
<16> _jason: it is asking for a cd.
<6> gnomefreak: mplayer-nogui is the only one without a gui I think
<16> _jason: do I enter the installation CD??
<1> ubuntu wont automaticaly see my windows shears, any help/tips/ideas?
<6> guest: well we can tell it not to use the cd if you prefer and then it will never bother you for the cd again when you install. Want to do that?
<7> _jason: i was thinking either mplayer-arch or mozilla-mplayer was text based
<16> _jason: let's do that.
