<chp43> trying to run quake2 but having problems.. first there was no sound, which I finally got working by intalling libsdl1.2debian-alsa and configuring quake2 to use alsa.. the problem now is the sound quality is terrible.. it crackles and pops while other apps using alsa perform fine ;(

<chp43> swizzle: check out the chown command. man chown. if the files are owned by root though it might be easier to just to use sudo to get the neccesary permissions
