<adub> there is no other way to find the rpm of a hard drive from within linux
<stfn> logical_mark: everything under /dev/ is what's called a "device file", it's raw access to partition one on drive sda. you'll need to mount a filesystem on that partition before you can do anything like use it as your home directory. type "mount" to see what filesystems you already have mounted and where

<spazzz> adub: Well most people don't. They're not designed to be used as desktop units so they're designed to fit as much as possible in a small space. Power consuption is at a premium because it makes it last longer. In such a small space anything that makes alot of heat is also an issue because of limitations on ventaliation
