<0> as for the dependency hell, if you happen to need soemthing not installed, you can try to search on repositories and theres alot of chances that a already made package is ready to be installed for your system
<7> adamant1988, people say that about mandriva too but i never have any problems when i have to install from source. you do have to keep track of what you installed from source if you want to also use the package manager.
