<1> ome_: i personally use mplayerplug-in, but it's known to be buggy. if you have totem, you can install that plugin.

<13> bunter: a fresh install is a clean install. :-) an update-manager install leaves you with all your old user-data, but also trashes any package changes you might have made as it applies a fresh ubuntu-desktop' install. goodby mozilla. hello firefox and evolution. which i then had to manually reverse. and my sound still isn't working. :-(
