<0> cherwin, but i need a way to use tor with ssh, how do i do this?
<1> apparently
<2> sorry about that
<1> but, the make command isant working
<1> it says, no makefile found
<3> uXp it shouldn't be trying to load a display when you do the dpkg-reconfigure
<3> It should be ncurses based
<4> roostishaw: what do you mean? just download the source code of putty and then compile it. Run the executeable afterwards and you're good to go
<5> Everytime I turn on ubuntu, after Verifying DMI Pool.. it just says "boot from cd" a couple of times.. then says boot from cd failure, please insert system disk. Upon inserting the ubuntu live cd it just takes me to standard live cd boot :( giving me the option to install ect.
<6> eclypse: install the "auto-apt" package. then "sudo auto-apt update", then wait. then "sudo auto-apt run ./configure". this will automatically "guess" what packages are missing, and ask you whether you want to install them. however, it'll get a few wrong... so don't start installing everything it asks for. no Perl, no Fortran 77 compiler, etc ;-)
<4> roostishaw: it's a gui program
<0> cherwin, i know
<3> JakeDude, remove the CD from the drive
<7> How does one integrate KDE applicartions into GNOME? eg Konversation?
<0> cherwin, but is there a way to connect annonymously?
<6> eclypse: make isn't supposed to work, strace just listed the files that ./configure was trying to open

<3> snips just install them, they should run
<6> eclypse: pastebin the output and i'll try to have a look
<2> what was the java link again?
<5> lol. I said the cd wasen't in there and I got the error.. then *UPON* inserting it I booted to it :(
<7> but what about making them look similar?
<8> !tell tux0010 about java
<4> roostishaw: you mean connect to a other ssh server anonymouse?
<3> JakeDude, did you install the OS
<0> cherwin, ya
<1> LjL:trying now.
<9> im going to try the nano etc/X11/xorg.conf then the dbpk, ill be back
<2> thanks
<4> roostishaw: yes it's quite simple but why do you want to do that?
<10> WHY IS NOBODY EVEN SAYING HI TO ME>>
<3> good idea
<0> hi
<0> to you
<9> brb mikem
<3> made, because you are being rude with all the caps
<5> Yes. This is the first time I restarted it sinse the install, other than the restart that happens right after installing with the disc.
<3> ok
<11> I installed the nvidia drivers, and could it be that that broke my wifi card drivers ? its an atheros ...
<12> made: no shouting in here please.
<10> did nobody notice all the questions I had asked earlier
<13> md5sum for the ubuntu 6.06 iso Link?
<14> !patience
<15> The people in this channel are volunteers. Please be aware there are a lot of questions, but only maybe few who might know the answer for you. Please be patient. Your attitude may determine their willingness to help you.
<6> made: hi. now, am i supposed to say "hi" to all the 889 people there are in here?
<3> JakeDude, bare in mind that the disk is a live cd, you have to install it using the wizzard for it to work
<3> LjL, why did you even bother?
<16> iiiears: it's on the download page at ubuntu.com
<10> /////////******--->>> *When I open sound recorder I get this error "Your audio capture settings are invalid. Please correct them in the Multimedia settings"
<17> how do I flush the 'dns cache' on ubuntu?
<4> made: you know you're on everyone's ignore list now?
<12> made: excessive punctuation like that is annoying, too. Please, just ask your question -- if someone is able/willing to help, they will.
<18> hey guys, i can't find a guide to help me set up a way for me to share my home folder on my desktop for the life of me........it's a desktop running ubuntu, and a laptop running ubuntu
<18> i'm only looking for access while at home....

<10> kussen mich esel
<3> there should be a manners factoid
<6> __mikem: well, perhaps one doesn't even *realize* what saying "hi" to everyone in a channel like this would mean, who knows
<13> SinnerG: man ipconfig may have an answer. - apolgies for not knowing the syntax.
<2> 'sun-java5-bin' is not available in any software channel
<4> roostishaw: why do you want to connect to a ssh server anonymously?
<2> i get that
<3> LjL, scary but very true
<19> __mikem, if you think so, create it
<6> Made: please no insults
<2> but i am running on x86 - athlon xp
<12> made: and this is an English-speaking channel, only.
<0> cherwin, just wanna know, is there a way?
<16> tux0010: are you using dapper with multiverse enabled?
<6> apokryphos: and i suppose insults aren't welcome in any language.

<15> rumour has it, manners is Please show respect as the people in this chat are not being paid to help and are doing so only out of the goodness of their heart.
<1> still same error
<2> i have multiverse enabled
<13> Does anyone have the md5sum for IA386 Ubuntu 6.0.6 iso?
<3> hows that
<1> that auto-apt didn't work
<16> tux0010: that package should be available to you then, can you post your /etc/apt/sources.list on http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/ please?
<5> HOly **** __mikem.. I don't mean to be rude but you're responses are driving me nuts. I have *INSTALLED* ubuntu. It has *worked*, I'm not running off the cd, im running off the harddrive. Now, I restarted the computer *for the second time* sinse a fresh install of dapper. Now.. it giving me "boot from cd" a couple of times, then a failure. The disc *IS NOT IN THE DRIVE*
<3> !language
<6> eclypse: "not work" as in "didn't find the right package", or "not work" as in "failed miserably to even run"?
<15> Please watch your language. We try to be nice and help but some of us don't like to see such things on our screen.
<21> Anybody having troubles with 6.06 booting from cds?
<20> has anybody followed the directions for the eyecandy on http://www.ubuntuguides.org?
<4> roostishaw: i never met somebody who wanted to connect to a ssh server with their ip hide for legal reasons. so i have to refrain of telling you how to accomplish that sorry
<12> SyL: /msg ubotu ubuntuguide
<20> JakeDude: what happens when you change the boot order in the buis?
<1> checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!
<21> Mine stops loading after the cursor shows up
<1> ...
<5> Tried that. I put hdd first as an expiriement.
<2> sure
<3> JakeDude, that is very strange, is there any other options listed on the screen
<5> Same thing :(
<0> cherwin, and how come i cant compile putty with ./configure?
<13> JakeDude: Do-o-ood Relax The F-Bomb isn't necesary to get a good answer here. - lol
<12> eclypse: have you read the compiling links on the FAQ?
<2> its posted as my alias tux0010
<16> iiiears: what dies IA386 stand for?
<3> who still uses links

<20> apokryphos: thanks

<13> "Intel Archetecture" 386
<4> roostishaw: cause you didn't read the docs that come with the code, it's explained exactly how to compile that code. it will not work with just ./configure
<3> IA I believe stands for Intel Archetecture
