<5> ok guys
<6> how come the ubuntu desktop takes up 2 gigs?
<7> ack
<2> Im lazy, I like to just df ;)
<1> ;)
<8> skpl: linux has firewall built in
<5> just making my partition bbiab

<2> selinux?
<4> Apostle^, how do i open the port?
<8> skpl: install firestarter and make a rule
<2> he could disable the linux firewall. but probably not a good idea :D
<8> i don't think you can
<9> rebelfallen try this echo 'alias df="df -h" ' >> .bashrc ;bash df
<0> rebelfallen, he might should flush the iptables
<0> after changing it
<0> then restart the firewall
<2> m... yah
<9> the use of aliases make the lazy functional....
<8> all he needs to do is add a rule uzing firestarter
<0> many apps don't do that for you
<0> ya
<0> i like guarddog better...
<10> Does anyone have gpc working in dapper?
<4> Apostle^, the add rule menu item is lgreyed out, what do i do?
<11> mzuverink, ncluded with the Webmin distribution is a program called changep***.pl to solve precisely this problem. ***uming you have installed Webmin in /usr/local/webmin-1.270, you could change the p***word of the admin user to foo by running /usr/local/webmin-1.270/changep***.pl /etc/webmin admin foo
<8> skpl: go to policy right click in the bottom add policy and their is a drop down list pick ftp it will make it port 21 for you automatically
<11> mzuverink, might help
<4> Apostle^, the add rule menu item is greyed out, i cannot select it
<8> skpl: if you right click?
<4> Apostle^, yes
<8> skpl: hmm did you run it as root?
<10> Later all
<4> Apostle^, no, but i will
<4> Apostle^, i still cannot select it, why is that?
<8> skpl: hrm, not sure you in the policy tab?
<12> anyone I am trying to auto login and I cant get this computer to give the correct p***word no matter if I type it correct or not, any suggestions?
<4> Apostle^, ok, i got it now
<13> I'm trying to install an app, runing ./configure. The script tells me GTK is not installed (version >= 2.6.x). However, libgtk2.0 is installed (2.8.17), as well as libgtk2.0-dev (2.8.17). Any ideas?
<8> skpl: :-)
<8> skpl: then try ftp
<4> Apostle^, it says add new inbound rule, but i want to be able to connect to my computer from anywhere, not just a single ip
<8> skpl: make sure you hit the check mark afterthat
<8> skpl: yea select 'everyone'
<14> oxez: how did you install gtk?
<4> ok, thank you
<13> slavik, from the repos
<14> oxez: through apt/synaptic?
<8> skpl: you want to allow a service.

<14> oxez: whatcha trying to install?
<8> skpl: not an host
<4> Apostle^, i still cannot connect to my machine though
<8> skpl: make sure you do the bottom tab in policy
<14> skpl: did you solve that problem I was helping you with?
<13> slavik, yes through synaptic. I'm trying to install php-gtk
<8> skpl: allow service, not host
<14> oxez: is it in the repos?
<4> Apostle^, Cannot connect to skpl.no-ip.info: Connection refused
<1> so.... how is it linux never has to defrag?
<8> skpl: are you allowing a service, or a host
<4> Apostle^, the service.
<13> slavik, if it was I would not be here asking this question :P

<4> Apostle^, yes i did
<15> ok let me ask this way..if I have a site that I can't connect to..and the answer of them was to change some ip..and I know that some have been listed like 12.0.0.01 or something...how do I change this ip? and what ip are they talking about?
<14> oxez: fair enough
<8> skpl: hrm take a screenshot and gimme the link
<13> slavik, it p***es the glib test tho, not the gtk
<4> ok
<14> oxez: where did you get it from?
<1> DMZ = De-militarized Zone?
<13> slavik, php-gtk? it's cvs
<14> yipe: yes
<1> okay
<14> hmm

<16> I was trying to untar an archive and got the following error: tar: cowon_a2/rootfs/default/dev/cpusb2: Cannot mknod: Operation not permitted
<14> might want to open the config script and see where it checks for gtk libs ... and such
<13> slavik: I tried, I'll try again I guess :p
<12> intelikey, I am using the xchat client on windows
<13> slavik: if you want to look at it..
<4> Apostle^, where should i put the screenshot?
<14> PM me the script
<14> or pastebin it
<14> skpl: on pastebin
<8> skpl: upload it to like imageshack.us and give me the link
<8> or pastebin
<14> arrick1: use gaim

<12> slavik if i wanted to use gaim i would

<4> Apostle^, according to my proftpd conf file it is using port 21
<13> slavik: I read the config.log, it was looking for gtk/gtk.h. I did a ln -s /usr/include/gtk-2.0/gtk /usr/include/gtk, now in config.log I see something about gdk/gdk.h, I'll try to install that one
