<3> Jivemonkey: welcome to life. My production servers see around 1 attempt every second constantly. Make sure you have strong p***words on your accounts. Make sure remote root access is disabled. If you're running a high-exposure machine you might want to look into sh*tlisting IP's after so-many failed attempts.
