<17> drivers is probably https://wiki.ubuntu.com//BinaryDriverHowto <3> first intent tell me <12> can anyone tell me why, if i restart my pc my ipod shows up on /dev/sdb2 working perfectly, but if i unmount /dev/sdb2 and try to re-mount it, it tells me the special device doesn't exist <6> pancakelizard <6> !drivers <17> I guess drivers is https://wiki.ubuntu.com//BinaryDriverHowto <8> silvaran: looks like I'm only using 30mb? <16> hey thanks <10> s|k: So you have about 2.6 gigs of RAM used for buffers and cache, which is perfectly normal. Technically, it's all being used, but you still have almost 2.8 gigs of RAM free. <18> anyone know how to get an invite for biteme.org or xbins <13> s|k: that's 300MBs <8> er <10> s|k: You're using 311MB. <8> why so much? <10> Cache make Linux go ZOOM. :) <8> that's more than windows xp uses <6> !install themes <17> kditty: I haven't a clue, try searching at http://ubuntu.cc.com.au/ <4> Samineru, ext2 probably isn't a great format for the PSP :) <5> silvaran> best description I ever seen :) <15> ah <10> I have a server at work with 4 gigs, 3.2 gigs of which is used by cache. <10> Heheh. <15> fluxt how do I reformat it to a different format? <3> !gaim <17> methinks gaim is http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/GaimHowto/ <14> does anyone have a link to a ubuntu server edition wiki or tutorial... <8> silvaran: why so much ram? 300mb is more than windows xp uses <5> Maxtors> what do you need to know maybe someone here can help <4> Samineru, i'm not sure what format psp uses... fat32? <14> i can start up, login... but what do i do now? how do i navigate the HDD, how "anything":P <19> lmao i have only 90 MB of ram on this machine <3> !irc <15> I'm guessing, how do I reformat it to that? <17> from memory, irc is info on irc at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat, or https://wiki.ubuntu.com/InternetRelayChat <10> s|k: If it's there, it's going to use it. You're not using it for applications, so the kernel has decided to use it for cache. When you eventually do need it (ie: you start up a bunch of large applications), Linux will decrease its cache usage on the fly. That's why "free" provides you with the "-/+ buffers/cache" line. <20> hey guys, I have a vietnamese girlfriend, has anyone in here set up ubuntu for vietnamese? <4> Samineru, could be something like mkfs.vfat /dev/whateverthehelldevicethepspis <5> Maxtors> I dont want to mlow out your candles but if you are new to Linux reinstall the default installation <5> blow* <21> anyone have fglrx working on dapper? <4> Samineru, unmount it first <15> fluxt I'll try that <20> by the way, it looks like google has taken the piss <14> i know some linux but i just whant to get the hang of the server edition <4> TSCHAK, yes? <15> oh <5> Maxtors> server install has no GUI meaning everything will be in console mode <8> silvaran: oh, thanks :) <10> s|k: np ;) <20> fluxt, what are you responding to? :-) <14> ikow <15> fluxt it says "No such file or directory" <4> google.. piss.. huh? <14> but thats why im looking for a introductary tutorial or wiki <20> fluxt, google is timing out for me <5> Maxtors> lemme check and see what I can find <14> ok... <4> TSCHAK, ahh ok <3> !mozilla <17> Wish I knew. Try searching at http://ubuntu.cc.com.au/, MOEBIOUX <3> !mozilla <4> TSCHAK, try a www.google.com.au <4> Maxtors, i think there was this lifesaver icon that had some introductory material installed with gnome <14> ok? and that means? <15> fluxt it says "No such file or directory" when i enter mkfs.vfat /media/usbdisk/ which is the directory when it is mounted <3> !audacity <17> My cat's name is Mittens! Try searching at http://ubuntu.cc.com.au/, MOEBIOUX <22> how do i change the screen resolution of the logon screen? <0> fluxt ive been having a problem, i have the windows xp in the other drive(because of my brother and sister, they also use this pc), and the clock have been delaying <10> Samineru: You can't format a mounted device, you need to find the /dev/??? link, make sure it's not mounted, and do a mkfs.vfat /dev/sda1 (for example). <0> fluxt in the windows <5> Maxtors> this is only link I found ! http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2005-October/000042.html not very helpful though :/
