<12> Goldfisch: thnx for ur help i sorted it, one thing tho i must have set one thing wrong when i reconfigured it as the screen is not the right size, is there a way to set this in the graphical interface or do i have to go back to command line and reconfig again?

<8> Viper2026: *nod*. you shouldn't need to hunt things down anymore. like cdubya said, use synaptic or apt-get. the main advantage is doint it that way will grab dependent packages for you. installing manually won't.
