<4> anyone in here ever install off the live cd?
<9> _jason, i just mounted my ntfs drive, and when i try to open it it says: You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "f:ntfs"
<5> i tried to Fx..

<12> Hello
<1> mimi, patrick87: please don't use the "enter" key as punctuation

<14> mimi, is usb working on the toshiba at all?
<11> mikebot: pay attention to the table about permissions in the middle of the page ubotu linked you to
<15> can ubuntu install onto an existing xfs fs?
<16> Is it possible to add a command for the right click list in nautilus?
<5> what u mean as punctuation?
<0> !ntfs
<8> well, ntfs is the filesystem used in Windows 2000 and newer; to automatically mount your NTFS partition: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AutomaticallyMountMSWindowsPartitions
<9> _jason, okay, thanks
<12> I'm not finding PHP5 in Synaptic Package Manager, how can I find it?
<3> the usb flashes show up in 'computer' but we can not acess them
<1> matyk: they are not the same. It's up to you, but I prefer aptitude
<11> eugman: you can use nautilus scripts
<3> open them or use them
<5> im not trying to :S.
<1> patrick87: hitting the enter key instead of using a period and starting a new sentence
<3> and they do not show up on the desktop, but on mine, they do, as soon as i plug them in
<3> ahhhh ok, so sorry
<13> tritium: whats the difference? i thought aptitude is a fronend to apt
<3> but I did mkdir -p a/b like you said and It has not fixed anything, we still get the same error and can not access them
<17> eh
<5> sry. I didnt not know that. i'd nvr heard of that as being spamming in a chat before.. quite sry.
<1> matyk: it's not. For one thing, aptitude keeps logs, and remembers depencies that are installed along with packages. When you remove a package, its dependencies are also removed.
<17> in the standard ubuntu install
<3> here is the error...
<18> I've got this generale qustion about Keyboard layouts: Are keyboard layouts set in 3 different places ? Like one place for console, another for X and last under the Window manager as well ?

<3> I did and it hs not fixed the problem
<13> tritium: ok thanks. does synaptic work like aptitude or like apt?

<20> Nubuntu: nah, you're limited to the 386 kernel on a live cd
<1> matyk: apt
<0> synaptic is just a graphical package manager for apt
<0> !synaptic
<8> methinks synaptic is https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SynapticHowto
<6> mimi> you dont ned to repeat the question every 30 seconds
<13> okidoky :)
